Equality Within A Comparison?

Compare the idea of equality as used in the Declaration of Independence to the idea of equality as practiced in Anthem.

The comparison of equalityin the declaration of independance and the term in the novel Anthem are very similar. I believe that this terms usage in these particular subject compare similarly. In anthem they relate Equality as the one who not following thte path and the rebel who I believe symbolizes many things. for example life, love, and pursuit of happiness. he takes risks takes learning an dicovering to a new meaning. In the declaration of Independance states that the equality of the country is key. and in relationship to Equality in Anthem they both express the same meaning that life and people should be equal. Discrimination is horrific and used against one another everyday, but if the equality of the world increased it would be a better place to be.

in anthem, the thought of equality in the society is frowned upon. everyone must be equal men and women cant notice each other. in the declaration of independence it means equal rights, every one beong equal. i think this can represent equality in the book because he thinks for himself and in the end he breaks away from the society. but the society i think sees this word as equal no one gets ahead or special treatment based on race, class, or state

In the Declaration of Independance, the peoples rights are given that creates a better union and semi living inviorment. In the book of Anthem the people of the community are not given any rights at all; many of the rights that are not given or prohibited rights to individutal, thought and feeling of opinion. So instead the people of the community are made and commanded to believe that no one in the world in different and that everyone is the same or equal 100% equal; and that if thought or seen as different or what they called them but "strange" then, then them being strange is evil. Their prohibited to even experess their single emoions in any sertin way or sent to the detention center. As seen or read in the declaraion of independance, everyone is still represented as being equal and nor taught to be treated different. Our freedom is taught to be an individual opinion, were as Anthem is only a samll inviorment or community where everyone is the same and equality is in all of them.

The Declaration of Independence displays a clarified definition of equality: to have the exact same civil rights as everyone else, and to be an independent, unique person like everyone else. In our "favorite" novel, Anthem, the equality is not quite the same. For example, nobody is allowed to be independent, or allowed basic civil rights. Also, the only person treated unequally in this story is Equality 7-2521. He says, "All men are good and wise. It is only we, Equality 7-2521, we alone who were born with a curse. For we are not like our brothers."
He establishes the fact that the councils are not just and do not give equality to everyone. Because he is taller, more intelligent, and more cunning; because he is "not like our brothers", the councils cast down ashamed looks upon him. He did nothing wrong, except for following his precise beliefs in what was true, and yet he is less equal than everyone else. The councils have a tendency to give more equality to those with less advantage, and less equality to those like Equality 7-2521 who have advantages over everyone else.

Equality and The Declaration of Independence are very much alike. The Declaration of Independence was to be no longer under the control of Great Britain. The U.S. wanted independence and to be thier own nation. They did not like some ways Great Britains leaders ruled thier people.

Equality means the state or quality of being equal; correspondence in quantity, degree, value, rank, or ability. Like The Declaration of Independence, Equality wanted to be free and independent, from his controling society. He ran away from the city and became a new man. The U.S. did the same when they split from Great Britain.

Think, act, feel, live, equil(same). In Anthem to be equil means to be the same, to be the same so that no one has anychance of being inequil. In the Declaration it saying to be equil so that we CAN be different, so that we can CHOOSE who we are, what we do, and how we live.

I think the meaning of eqaulity is really similar in both the Anthem and the declaration. Throughout Anthem Equality 7-2521 is seeking freemdom and independane, totally different than the society they were living in. In the declaration the United States wanted to be free and indpendant. Also in both cases there was someone or something that was agaist this. In Athem it was the cousil and in the delaration it was the other countries who didn't think America should be free.

I think that the declaration and Equality are similiar. The Declaration of Independence states that having equality is important.
In Anthem, Equality shows us that he wants to be free, independent, and himself. The declaration and Equality both relate to eachother because they both describe freedom and the urge to have it. Equality symbolizes the freedom in the declaration and the equal power to receive it.

In the declaration of independence it said that all men are created equal and they all have the right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Equality in anthem says that all men are equal but they cannot act by themselves and there is no individual. In the declaration of independence it declares their independence to act on their own accord and right there in the title it thwarts the beliefs in anthem that individuality is sinful. The Declaration of independence shows how we are no longer part of Great Britain and how we can act the way we want. In Anthem it tells us that we are all equal must always act in a group and we aren’t aloud to think or act for ourselves.

I think that the meaning of equality in Anthem and the meaning of equality in the Declaration are very similar. In the Declaration equality is used to show that everyone is to be treated equal and to be free. In Anthem equality is used to show Equality's expression, free will, and free thought.

Equality is not praised for his intelligence. If Equality was living under the Declaration of Independence he would be treated much differently then what he would be in Anthem. He would be free to be a scholar and to invent. He could do some amazing things with his knowledge if the Council only let him. In the Declaration he would be able to put his talents to use and many could have benefited from his inventions.

Equality, there is many ways you can look at equality. The way it is used in the text of ANTHEM and in the declarition of independence are very similar. In ANTHEM equality is a person or group of people that are much different than everyone else when they wern't suposed to be. It was described like the men were rebelous because they were different when they were but they were different in a good way. In the DofI equality is different people getting the same rights. Equality is a good thing to have, if we didn't have it in the US then where would we be today? in the text equality takes many risks, such as discovering new things, not afraid of being different, and not afraid of who he is with or who he has to explain himself to. He is however afraid to stand up to the council and tell them that they deserve better and that people should be able to make discoveries. The decleration of independence clearly states that equality is a good thing and that without it people would be treated much differently.
