Although Pyramus and Thisbe are two different teenagers in a completely different circumstance than Romeo and Juliet, both of these "couples" share many of the same "big ideas" about love. In the myth of Pyramus and Thisbe, these two young lovers believe that nothing should be able to keep them apart, or trample their love, even though they are trapped behind a barrier. In the tale of Romeo and Juliet, the two youngsters also find themselves in an enigma. In this case, the barrier is the renown feud between their families. Yet each of them somehow find a way to love their arch-enemy. In short, all of these head-strong teenagers trust that when you find true love, nothing can truly stop it. Also, in the end of both these stories, tragedy becomes imminent as both couples try to escape the barrier and situation by running away together. Pyramus and Thisbe decide to run off to the forest together at night, so no one will suspect them gone, but when Thisbe gets there first, she discovers a lioness, runs away, and accidentally drops her cloak. Pyramus comes later to the forest and mistakenly thinks she is dead because the lioness ripped and chewed on her cloak. So he goes under a tree and commits suicide. Then Thisbe comes back to the same tree, sees Pyramus is dead, and also kills herself. Almost the same thing happens in Romeo and Juliet (sorry to ruin the ending, people, but we already watched a scene in the movie about that anyway). Friar Laurence promises to help Juliet think of a way to run off with Romeo, in order to end the feud. So he gives her a sleeping potion and plans to tell everyone she is dead, so she won't have to marry Paris. He was supposed to send Romeo a note, telling him that his wife wasn't really dead, but for some reason, he did not receive the note. So when he comes to see Juliet and finds her dead, he drinks poison. Then Juliet wakes up , finds out he's dead, and kills herself, heartbroken. So I suppose the big idea of love for both of these couples at the end is, love can make you crazy, and make you do utterly stupid things sometimes.

the myth of Pyramus and Thisbe can be very closely related to Romeo and Juliet. For starters they are both stories of forbidden love. In both they attempt to run away together and both characters in each story end up dying... both from suicide. They both show the affects and strength of love.

Both Pyramus and Thisbe and Romeo and Juliet are basically love relationships that aren't allowed to be. They are forbidden love stories in which they both run away to be together. They make efforts to stay together because they both care for eachother.

Pyramus and Thisbe were two very good looking people in all the land, and were very much in love. However, their parents forbid them to get married, which could not keep them apart. They lived in adjoining houses would talk through a crack in the wall, that seperated their two homes. They didn't have to say much to each other, but when they glanced upon each other, their love grew stronger and stronger.
Romeo and Juliet were also young and fell in love. They met at a party, but then found out that their families were arch enemies and a marriage would never work, if their parents found out about it. Romeo looked upon Juliet at the party, and instantly fell in love. They would secretly talk and nothing could keep them apart.
These two love stories are very similar. It shows how much two people can love each other, that nothing in the world could keep them from each other or break their love.

Pyramus and Thisbe myth has many similar aspects to Romeo and Juliet such as the way the all die. That was a point that especially stuck out to me. Pyramus and Thisbe were in love or what they thought was love, they were challenged and did not make it as a couple. Romeo and Juliet both had many trials considering that their families could not possibly get along and they were madly infatuated. Both stories have very similar points and details, but they are still different. My reaction to their deaths, is why? Why would you kill yourself? I know it would be a lot of pain, but people are still able to cope. For people that have been married for years, it makes me wonder Romeo and Juliet’s puppy love could have been blown out of proportion by their emotions to go to extremes as to kill themselves.

The two love stories of Pyramus and Thisbe and Romeo and Juliet are very similar in many ways. First, they both have around the same plots, about two forbidden lovers who would do anything to be with eachother, even if it means the ultimate price.
In the story of Pyramus and Thisbe, they believe that nothing can keep them and their love apart so they decide to sun away together into the forest. There Thisbe comes across a lion, so in fright she drops her cloak. When Pyramus finds Thisbe's cloak, all ripped and torn, he automaticaly assumes that she is dead and in thinking this, he kills himself. Shortly after, Thisbe finds Pyramus' body. Heartbroken, she kills herself to be with her true love.
In Romeo and Juliet, Juliet pretends to be dead so Romeo and her can secretly run away and live free of their families grudges, but Romeo hears the false news that Juliet is really dead. He comes to see if its reall true and when he sees her "dead" body, he drinks posion and dies next to Juliet. When Juliet wakes up, she finds Romeo there, dead. Shocked and hearbroken, she kills herself. Sound familiar?
Both stories revolve around the idea of miscommunication. Pyramus and Romeo both think that Thisbe and Juliet are really dead, therefore killing themselves. Both stories display the ultimate sacrafice of love, that not even death can tear true love apart.

The myth of Pyramus and Thisbe can be closely related. The undying love of Thisbe and Pryamus is so similar to Romeo and Juliet that the story seems almost plagiarized. Both stories tell a tale of love and that no one and nothing should keep them apart. As both couples love grows it becomes inevitable that they must be together and decide to run away together. Romeo and Juliet are family rivals but even through all their hardships still find it within themselves together. They care for each other so much that they are willing to do anything for each other. Both relationships end in a tragic death caused by uncontrollable love.

In these two stories, they both show how yound people act when they are madly in love,by not being able to see each other they go to the extreme for their loved ones. Both stories have a tragic ending, but both are love stories.

In Pyamus and Thisbe, they are forbidden to see each other causing these two to want to run away together, in the end their love was so strong that when Pyramus thinks Thisbe is dead he ends his life, then Thisbe see's him laying dead so she ends her life too, making their love so strong they have to end it together.
In Romeo and Juliet their familes are arch enemies but they fall in love at first sight, causing them to get married. When Juliet is in a heavy sleep and Romeo thinks she is dead he kills himself, when Juliet wakes up and see's her beloved one dead she feels she has no choice but to end her life. These stories are so similar in the tragic love story theme, making these stories almost the same. The love is so strong between all charcters showing us what true love really is like.

These two stories are both strong love tales. They both relate to cupid in little ways. Such as the doves and the arrows. The two tales are also similar because they both are in relationships of true love that can not be broken.

Some of the "big ideas" that were portrayed in the Pyramus and Thisbe myth and Romeo and Juliet are that they both share a forbidden love and eventually committed suicide. One of my reactions was that in our world today there will always be some kind of forbidden love but not all loves are worth committing suicide. Lost loved ones would probably want the better for the living loved one, and want them to find something to keep living for; but not completely forgetting the forbidden love that they once shared.

In these two very similar stories about two lover are very similar ideas that run though the stories. The elements of forbidden love and loyalty to each other even to the death.
In Romeo and Juliet the young couple set apart by a long lasting family feud vows to run off together and get married in secret. when Romeo kills himself over Juliets suposedly dead bodie and later Juliet kills herself over romeos death shows that the lovers wont even part at death.
In Pyramus and Thisbe the two lovers traped behind a barier vow to run off together. when Pyramus sees Thisbe's bloody cloak he belives that she is dead and of corse kills himself only leading to the suicide of his lover Thisbe over his dead boddie. Once again not even parted by death.
both of these stories share a very similar plot along with similar beliefs of both parties.
