What's Really Behind The Arena Doors?

Based upon our understanding of The Lady Or The Tiger?, what does this short story reveal about humanity? Does it challenge us to think about ethics and human dignity? Explain.

it lets you think about facing both choices that you don't want, which what you take? the one that benefits you better or the one that benefits the person you love? do the princess love herself more or love the youth more? it's a hard decision for both us and the princess, so it makes us think alot about what kind of the princess is, and base on that guessing what door she picked.

I think that behind the door is a tiger. The princess's "soul would burn with agony" at the tough of him with another woman. So she decided to expunge him from the world. The youth trusted her and was viciously killed by the tiger.

The story "The Lady or the Tiger?" reveals that sometimes people do what's best for them or what they want to do, rather than what the other person would prefer. In the story, the princess chose the fate of her lover. She chose what she thought would be best for him, based on her feelings for him. This just shows that sometimes we don't think about human dignity/ethics and just make our decisions pertaining to what we want. The door to the tiger might have been the best choice for the princess, however it wouldn't have human dignity and ethics, and it would definitely not be her lover's preference.

I think that "The Lady or The Tiger" reveals how the self choices of one person (usually self) affects the life or events of another. The princess had either chosen something that resulted negatively for her, or negatively for him. Either way, the whole outline of that situation effects the rest of the story and mainly the conclusion.

i think that in "The lady or the tiger?" behind the arenas right door is the tiger. The princess chose this fait for her lover because she was thinking what was best for her. She had two choices either to see him mauled to death or spend the rest of her life jealousy watching him married to another girl. After torturing herself with the two choices the princess chose the tiger, there for ending her troubles.

I think that behind the arena door is the tiger. I think this because on page 34 in the second paragraph it says, "But how much more oftener had she seen him at the other door! Ho win her grievences reveries had she gnashed her teeth and torn her hair, when she saw his start of raptourus delight as he opened the door of the lady!" It shows that she had thought much more about him opening the door with the lady in it. So to her if she couldn't have him no one could.

I think that it was the tiger because the princess would have hated to see her love in the arms of a woman that she didn't like, and she also got very jealous seeing him with another woman.

The story reveals that in life choices are brought up every day an they aren't always easy. The princess wants to save him but still has her own selfish desires How does one choose? Her being her would choose the tiger and if a choice is given a person has to make a decision no matter how hard or it will be made for them by time or someone else

I agree with cgarcia because, she did not want him with another woman because it would expunge the pricess's soul. The youth trusted the princess and she trusted him to love no other woman but her and since she had the power she chose for the tiger to come out from behind the door.

i think that the tiger is behind the door because the man gave the princess the choice to his doom or life with another. the woman that he would have to marry is her worst enemy practially. so she would put it in the princesses face that she got to marry her love. so the princess kills her love

i think there is a tiger behind the door because the princess could not stand to she the love of her life to have to mary another wonen and so she put the tiger behind the door and gave him the nod to open the door with the tiger inside.

I think that the lady is behind the door. I think that the princess would condemn the person she loves to death. She would rather have the youth marry a another and have the possibility of seeing him again, then have him die and make sure she could never speak with him again.

It is a 50-50 chance that the Lady or the Tiger is behind the doors. But after reading the story a few times, I would have to say that the Tiger is behind the doors due to that there are some quotes that relate to a Tiger than quotes that could relate to the Lady possibly being behind the door. But that's just me.

i think the lady is behind the door because i think it would be harder for the princess to see the man she loves get eatin rather than get taken by another woman.

I think the tiger is behind the door. Because there is no way she would let the one she is in love with marry the girl she hates. Since she can't have him nobody can.

I think the tiger is behind the door because the story wouldn't have ended if he had a new life, and death is a good reason to end a story.

I think that behind the doors there lays the tiger because, you have to think in this situatoin what would you do, and even if it is a selfish move on your part, still its better than haveing to suffer your whole life watching the one you love in the arms of another.

It's an open ended question. The writer leaves it to your imagination and how you interpreted the story to see how what you thought came out. I personally believe that it was the tiger because the person behind the correct door or the happy door was a lady the princess wasn't fond of and with that barbarian side of her she probably wouln't want any other lady having him.

The lady or the tiger reflects human decisions based on what actually benefits themselves more. In this case the princess made a decision that hopfully would benefit her lover more. Leaving human dignity and ethics aside...this is a loose loose situation for the princess. But in the end, her choice actually reflects her morals, and her personal sense of dignity and ethics. But if you were to ask what i think is behind the door...i would say the tiger.
