Some of Odysseus's men give up their desire to go home. Juxtapose the Lotus Eaters encounter with something that would make you give up your current situation or status. Explain. Define.
The Lotus Eaters are when Odyseus has to smell the flowers to forget about where he came from, or where his home is, because they dont want them to go back home, they need to just keep moving foward, and on.. but odyseus isnt sure if he wants to forget about where he came from. so he's not sure that hes going to smell the flower.
Odysseus and his men go to the island and there they find these lotus eaters. All of them have come there with a certain intention or desire. Once they smell the flowers, the men will forget their desires and what they had come to the island for, and what they were supposed to accomplish. So Odysseus has to make the choice whether or not to forget where he came from, or continue on his journey knowing what would leave behind or disrupt if something were to happen.
When Odysseus's men landed on the island they encounterd the Lotus Eaters. When Odysseus's men smell the flower they forget all their intentions and they don't want to do any thing at all. I think there is notathing that could do that to me.
When Odysseus goes to the island of the Lotus Eaters, some of his men give up their intentions and motivations for returning home. I can’t think of something that would make me give up my current situation and make me loose my motivation and desire to continue on. I would want to accomplish and experience my aspirations throughout life, and if I smelled the lotus flower, I wouldn’t be able to do that. Therefore, I wouldn’t want to live with the Lotus Eaters on their island, and I don’t think there’d be much that would make me give up my motivation to return home or continue on in my life.
The lotus eaters the men of Odysseus encounter wash away all of their wishes to return home and now they wish to do nothing at all. Although I wish nothing could make me give up my status I would think it would be awful if the ones I care about all of a sudden don't understand my positions and lose their faith in me. After all I care about whether or not they believe i can do things because that is my motive to do them.
When Odysseus and his men get to the island, they find Lotus Eaters. These Lotus Eaters will make them forget thier desires. My question is if anyone forgot their desires, would they actually care? Yes, we want what our desires behold, but we don't actually want desires themselves. I think it might be good to forget your desires, because then you can almost start fresh. I don't know if I'd actually be able to bring myself to smelling this flower though, because I'd be too araid of the change it might bring, but I wouldn't necessarily be hesitant to give up my desires themselves.
when they get to the island Odysseus and his men find these Lotus Eaters that make them forget a desire and some of the mewn give up the desire to go home. i don't think i could give up one of my desires because they mean to much to me, and they ear the things that motivate me.
The lotus eaters make the men forget their desire. So Odeysseus and some of his men have to have a desire to go home. But ehrn some of his men do smell the lotus eaters, they forget their desires. Some of Odeyseu's men smell it and they are then tied down to the benches of where the men row.
The lotus eaters make you forget your desire. Many of them had the desire to go home so they then lost there desire to go home. I think it would be good to give up your desires because then you wouldn't want anything and you could start all over. But i don't think i could actually give up my desires because they mean too much too me.
Odysseus's men come to an island with an intention. Once the men get a whiff of this flowere schich makes them lose all of there intentions they forget what they landed on that island for.
The Lotus Eaters are when Odysseus and his men are tempted tp smell the flower. Smelling this flower woldk make tha men forget where they laved and or came from. Odysseus is not sure if he should smell this flower because he doesn't know if he wants to forget where he has come from.
When Odysseus and his men came to the island, they met with the lotus eaters. If they smelled this flower, it would make them lose their desires and just give up.
The lotus eaters left there tasks to do something that seem to be better. This is a lot like how I feel on my off hours. I know I need to do my school work, but it always seems to be more fun if I go to off campus with my friends.
When Odysseus' men encountered the lotus eaters and were offered some to eat, they forgot about their home and their purpose blinded by the sweet taste of the lotus. I can't think of anything that will happen to me like that because I don't really have something I really really want to that extent.
The loutus eaters take pepole and make the smell the flower and to make them forget were they came from so they want odeseyy to forget to they should just keep going home
