In the beginning of the book it said that Romeo and Juliet were star crossed lovers, witch totally entails that fate will have a major roll in the outcome of the play. Also I think that in the play fate is untimely because fate may play out in a matter of days, hours, or years.

Romeo and Juliet were meant to be together because they were from families who hated each other. I'm not sure how it is a force at work or how it is untimely.

I do not believe in fate. I think Shakespeare wrote this book because he wanted to show the people that these things can happen although they are fictional.

maybe it was destiny for romeo and juliet to meet. i believe there is someone out there for everyone and now they are finally meeting "the one".

when we began this book we read about how they were going to have a forbidden love. but when fate comes into play nothing will stop the love that romeo and Juliet will have.

I personally think that Shakespeare wrote most of his plays off fate. I also believe that when Shakespeare wrote his plays most of the people believed in fate. I think fate is also an untimely thing because you never know what is going to happen and everything is going to happen for a reason.

Fate has a lot to do with the plot of romeo and Juliet. Fate also has to do a lot with what happens in everyday life. From the littlest quintessences, too the things that change peoples life, fate is a very big part of life.

to me fate is not real. Another thing like that is destiny. people always seem to cross destiny with fate when they are both just words explaining things that could happen to anybody.

The foreshadowing made by Romeo and the prolouge said they were star-crossed lovers which means the fate of their fate will follow due to these signs.

i do believe in fate it is what bring us all together and makes us what we are like romeo and Joliet's situation.

I believe there is i Romeo and Juliet they kind of go overboard. There is so many twist and turns that doesn't make the story seem convincing. I think that Romeo and Juliet relies too much on fate and it doesn't make the story very convincing.

I'm at contemplating that there is fate between Romeo and Juliet because when Romeo chose to go to that mask ball, he might the love of his life. Fate can also be decided whether it is in a short or long time.

Well its kind of saying that she is trying to find her strength and playing around with things. Fate is saying that Romeo and Juliet just so happen to be kind of like the wheel of fortune. Its at work by just having luck happen. Just like Romeo and Juliet were suppose to be together but they didn't know that but they still found each other by having luck happen.

After I read the information on fate, I started to understand more about it. In regarding Romeo and Juliet fate is what brings them together, and leads them to their decisions. Fate is always a force, it is always with you. It leads your to your good and maybe even bad decisions. Fate is untimely because you never know if it is leading you or not. There were many quotes in the article that I read, many were from Shakespeare's work. This shows that Shakespeare is probably a believer in fate and thats why he writes so many plays and poems through it.

fate is a major charecter in romeo and julliet because there are soo many coincedencies and things that happen that are so ironic like how romeo just happens to go tho the party. it is untimely because it causes their deaths and their great misfortune

Fate plays a giant role in romeo and Juliet. These two were meant to be together because they came from two families that hatted each other. If something is destined to happen, then it will, no matter what you do to try and stop it.

Fate has a lot to do with fortune. Such as the Wheel of Fortune or the "Renaissance fixation on 'fortunes wheel.'" It can have to do with luck, and timing. I wouldn't necessarily call it a force at work; I would say it was more of luck, and what you choose to do with what luck or lack of luck comes your way. Romeo and Juliet get a lot of luck at the Mascaraed ball and decide to see each other more and even get married. But they get unlucky when Romeo looses Mercucio and Juliet loses Tybalt. What they do with that unluckiness will decide their fate.

I think in Romeo and Juliet that fate is meant to happen, that is supposed to guide them to each other. "With this night's revels, and expire the term
Of a dispised life, clos'd in my breast,
By some vile forfeit of untimely death.
But he that hath the steerage of my course
Direct my sail."
(Romeo and Juliet, 1.4.113), Romeo
He says in that quote who ever is guiding his course shall direct his sail, I think he is talking about fate guiding his course. It was fate that brought Romeo and Juliet together and is now bringing them to marriage. With out fate I don't think this story never would have happened.

I think it was because of fate that Romeo and Juliet are married. I think fate is untimely because Their families hate each other but they fall in love. Also hours after Romeo and Juliet get married, Romeo kills Tyblat. I think Shakespeare included and made fate a major part of this story to tell us that fate does exist. Maybe not as extreme as Romeo and Juliet's situation but it still exists.

In Romeo and Juliet has a lot about fate in it, but when the story relates to fate it seems to relate more to fortune. Boethius used the term the wheel of fortune talking about fate, and that is so much of what Romeo and Juliet is about. Their love just came to them, very strong from first glance, love at first sight.

Fate plays a big part in Romeo and Juliet. It was fate that Romeo ran into the Capulets servant in the street and found out about the party. It was fate that Romeo and Juliet danced together and fell madly in love with each other. It was fate that Romeo got banised from Verona. It was fate that Juliet faked her own death and when Romeo saw her dead ended up killing himself and therefor it was fate that Juliet awake only minutes later to find out that Romeo was dead ended up killing herself as well.

I think that in Romeo an Juliet fate isnt very timley. because they just do everything on a whim, and they both end up dying. now, if you ask me... fate would have kept them alive to love eachother.

Since Romeo and Juliet is a written work, I'm sure they would have found a way to be together if it wasn't for fate. I do not deny that fate is an essential quality to this story, what with its ways of bring Romeo and Juliet together by having them meet in the same places, be apart of feuding families, and having the same deep infatuation for each other. But, I have to say that the characters could be brought together by some other force if fate was not in the picture.

I think that Shakspears Romeo and Juliet book has a lot to do with fate. They happen to meet right after Romeo and Rosaline have broken up and he's down and feeling sorry for himself and the most indecisive about who he wants to date. He is trying to get over her and just happens to find Juliet and fall madly in "love" with her. Their fate is very untimely because they are so young and make the decision to die at a really young age for a coincidence of meeting each other.

I think that there is a lot of things that show fate between characters in "Romeo and Juliet." "Fate" probably wouldn't always happen and would be called "fate" which fate may seem coincidental, but it may be a real thing. The term "fate" comes to my mind when I hear about how Romeo's love sickness over Rosaline, and he went to the party to find her, but instead finds Juliet, that would be considered "fate." Personally i dont know if i believe in "fate" but I do believe that there are things that don't typically happen, that may intensionally happen.

"With domineering hand she moves the turning wheel" What they seemed to believe in Shakespears time is that fate was chosen like a turning wheel. What ever it stopped on would happen. I'm not sure if Romeo and Juliet meeting was fate, but more of a coincidence. It could have been a coicidence that Rosaline didn't like Romeo therefore his heart was broken and he was looking for a bounce back. But I think fate does come in were it says it was love at first sight and then they happened to get married the next day.

fate was a major part of this play. i think that it was fate that made romeo and juliet meet and fate that killed them.fate is untimely, especially in romeo and juliet because it there is a lot of bad timing in this this story, like when romeo finds juliet and thinks she's dead, but he just came to her at a bad time.

It appears that most people in the texts that we read, or the quotes, feel fate is a bad thing. one said "Our wills and fates do so contrary run
That our devices still are overthrown;
Our thoughts are ours, their ends none of our own. (Hamlet, 3.2.208), Player King)" I found that only fate is mentioned when problems arise, not when happy events happen.
Although the quote is not from Romeo and Juliet I believe this still gets Romeo's general feelings across. Of course most of the old plays and works were tragic, and had many problems with the protagonist.
The protagonist practically curse fate for their problems. In Romeo and Juliet Romeo calls himself "fate's fool". The idea that fate is actually a person is not a logical idea that can typically be understood well, but it was easier when science was still new to come up with ideas to help the common people. They believed in fate, that objects dictated fate, like star crossed lovers.
How ever Shakespeare wants fate to be the dictator in his play to add, what I believe is more of a humorous piece of the play that so many opposites happen to romeo in a matter of hours. Specifically a marriage then a death in his new family.
