A Man Named Pearl impacted me in many ways. It made me think about pursuing your dreams and not care about what others think of you. It challenged me to think about pride and how much pride he has in his work. It made me think about my dreams and it taught me too never give up, do what I love to do and don't worry about what others think of you, whether it is race or where you live, or what you do.
The film A Man Named Pearl challenged me to do something better. like in the film Pearl Challenged himself with this topiary garden. It made me believe that i should try new things and challenge myself.
This film has impacted me by the way he says never to let anything get in your way, and always follow your dreams. The film made me think about how this man could be unwanted, and ignore the people and do what he wants. My favorite quotes are, "do what you want, and don't let anything get in your way," and, "grades don't matter, the only thing that matters is your happiness,"
The movie A Man Named Pearl helped me see that anything is possible. He took something useless and made it into a state known garden. it changed me because he took a dream and made it into something real. Also what he made me see is that even if no one else has done it it doesn't mean you can. It's ok to be the first at something.
It really showed me how unique each person is in their own different ways. I also learned that you shouldn't let what others say and do impact you and change who you are and stop you from doing what you love. It challenges me to think about what i want to do in the future that will make me happy. It also showed me that you need hard work and effort to accomplish your dreams.
I really did not get any insight on how my dreams could come true. For this man it certainly did, but I am still not convinced that my own life could hold as much purpose as his. I guess we hold some kind of helping hand in making the world go around, but I just think that my part is one of the lesser of most.I have so much respect that this man cared enough about something to do that, that he could completely put himself into what he loves. I wish that in my life I could only have a fraction of the passion he fulfills for himself everyday. I would really like to know though how he chose trees, and what brings a person to want to do that. I certainly have not found something like that that I can completely and whole-heartedly put myself into. Or even find anything that obscure to put myself into. This man has found one thing to shape his entire life completely. He is really strong and muscular for and older man, and he gets that through his topiary dream. He somehow manages to use this tree shaping in every single aspect of his life, and he relates it to everything he does. I just don't think I can express how this makes me feel and how completely awestruck I am at this man's accomplishments, and how he feels about it. He is a very unique individual and I strive to someday have what he has built his entire life.
Pearl is an amazing person and I think its wonderful that he is sharing his work with everyone. Pearls doesn't do things by the book which I admire because I'm the kind of person he does. His garden has not just served him but it has served his community by bringing people together and making the city prettier.

"While I breathe, I hope." That state motto relates to Pearl because he is living and he is breathing, and no matter how old he is, he pursues his passion and his hope to do better. He said that Robinson was inspiration to him not because he played baseball, but that he pushed through barriers and became one of the best base ball players in history. The idea of barriers was big in this video. Racial, financial and time wise. and now he has probably the coolest garden in the country.
