What does the Did You Know 2.0? presentation make you think about? How might this impact your academics and view of the world? Please respond to this blog post by 2:30p.m. Friday, August 20th, 2010.
It made me think about how the world has changed and advanced. I was surprised by how many marriages started online and how technology might pass the human brain. This might impact my view of the world by how technological it has become and how the world will be when I'm older. Academics will also probably have more technology.
It makes me think about how the world will be in 10-20 years. This will impact my academics because by the time I am in college we may learn completely differently. This impacts my view of the world by making me think of my 5 or 6 year old cousin and how school will be when he is in high school. Will they even still use paper? Will he learn at a faster pace?
During the video several thoughts crossed my mind. One’s like that was four years ago. How much has it changed since then? My guess is the number of people who meet online has increased, because there are so many websites built for that. Then there is how it was in the late 1980’s-early 1990’s computers started coming out for the public’s use. Now there are iPods, iPads, and portable laptops. In twenty to thirty years it has charged that much. What could be next? Then it gets scary for anti-technology people, like myself, to think what is to come in the next two decades.
The presentation made me think of the advancements of technology and the human race. Computers, cell phones, and television seem to over run our lives. We "need" cell phones to contact our friends and family. We "need" computers to get things done and keep in contact with people. And we want television to keep us entertained. Myspaces and Facebook are the biggest social networks which is kind of scary thinking about how many people use it. The populations of each coutry also seem to be increasing which makes me wonder how many people there will be in the year 2050
The video made me wonder if we will be prepared for jobs in the future because of all the advancements in technology that might not even be around now for us to learn about. A lot of the statistics surprised me. A couple that really surprised me were: the number of text messages sent daily exceed the world population and if myspace was a country it would be the 8th largest in the world and a computer's capabilities will exceed the human brain.
The video really made me think about things i would never imagine could or would be happening. Its amazing how many events can happen in such little time. You never really think about how bad kids have it in other countries. Education is something that seem so boring or a daily routine to us, but kids around the world might not even know what school is, and if they do they want to go so badly. It also made me think about how many drastic changes will be made in the next hundred years. Seeing that video really made an impact on me.
Watching this video made me think about things that I would have never even imagined.I was suprised at how so many things can happen in such a short amount of time. Also education and other issues might not be a big issue here, but in other countries some kids want the education much more than we do. School here is something we do everyday, it has become something normal to do , but in other countries kids dream of going to school. If right now, we have so many technology abilaties what is going to happen in the next 10 to 20 years? The video definatly made an impact on me, makes me see the world differently now.
This video made me realize how importanat technolagy is to us. This has impacted our learning even in the classrooms, we are using blogs instead of writing assignments. Techonology will be even more advanced in 10, 15 years. -Bailey
It made me think about all the advancements we have made, all these things we do and have to stay connected like facebook, email, texting, and IM. With all these technologies people talk face to face much less then in years past. It makes me wonder what it will look like in fifty years, what will there be then I can guarantee it will be much more than what we have today. It also made me think about our education and that jobs we have now may not be around then and new jobs will also appear. I guess there will be more online college and jobs than there is now.
The "Did You Know 2.o" presentation made me think about how fast the world is changing. New jobs are being created due to advancement in technology. It is expected to be much more difficult to hold a job in fifteen years compared to now. The classes I will be taking in college will talk about many different things than they are right now.
It made me think about how fast the world is changing and how we can not keep up with it. This will impact my learning career because i will be exposed to items that i do not understand and that are relatvily new to the world. It will change my world and show me how i need to prepare my life so i can have a successful career and the career of my choosing.
It makes me think about the future and if our generation will be ready for the jobs that will be created in the near future. It also shows me how much we use and rely on the internet for simple things. For example, relationships, social interactions and academics. It makes wonder what else we will be doing online in the future and if we will be ready for it.
The Did you Know 2.0 video made me think about how much us teenagers lives depend on phones. Like how we text 250,000 texts a day. I think we depend too much on electronics to do the work for us, turning us lazy.
The did you know video really opened my eyes to how much we used technology in our lives and we dont even think about it.Plus this video was published in 2007 which means most of these facts have multiplied to an enormous amount. This video also showed me that our lives are basiclly revolving around technology and we dont even relise it.This also made me wonder what would happen to the world if all technology vanished all the sudden with out worning.Would this send our world in to uder chaos or would we find a way to learn to basicly start over from scratch
When i watched the Did You Know 2.0 Presentation, i was pretty amazed. i knew that us as Americans used a lot of technology but when you see statistics like that, it really makes you think about how much we've progressed. It definitely made me think about how the expectations about academics are much higher now in all parts of the world and it makes you feel like you should overachieve in a society of smarter and smarter people. My view of the world is much different now,I'm not trying to be racist in any way, but i always thought that other parts of the world were much less educated then us and now i see that a lot of people from all over the world, are catching up with the fast moving progression of American life too. I think that in a few years the statistics will triple.
The number one thing that the "Did You Know?" presentation made me think was that everything is multiplying every second. It kind of intimidates me because at the begining our of civilizations, we didn't mass produce like the way we do now. That video was made five years ago? Things have changed so much now, that I wonder what it will be like 20 years from now.
This video put me in shock, I was amazed at how far we have gotten in our technology. That was 4 years ago, in todays society those numbers must have increased highly. I couldn't believe some of the things that were stated. The thing that stood out the most was that if Myspace was a country, it would be the 8th largest!
It makes me wonder where the world will be in another four years from now and what technology we will have. It also made me think about how big our population is and is going to be.
It made me think about how you should live life. Also how so many things are changing. Just wait and see what happens in the next 10 years! another thing it made me think about was what i will be doing in the future. This was a great power point.
It made me think about how life for people is changing so rapidly and how in 10 years so many things can change. It also made me think about where ill be in the future. This was a great power point presentation.
The video mademe think about how much we have advanced in technology over the past years. it also showed me how much we can still advance when it said soon a computer will be just as smart as our brain. Alot of people in the U.S. can only speak english maybe 1 other language, but all college students in India can speak English.
This video made me think about how much more the world has advanced in just the couple years. i couldnt even imagine what kids will be learning in 20 years and what technolgy we will have its kinda scary just to think about.
This video made me think about how we are developing a future for our children and our children's children. If we make mistakes in our generation then our children's generation will have to correct our mistakes which is not fair at all.
It really makes me think about in 20 years from now it is going to be twice as hard just to make a living in this world just because evryone willl be so much more advaced and kids in middle school will be learning the same as high schools do now. and technolagy is going to be way better then now
IT makes me think about how the world had changed when this was made and how it will still change and how some of those things were accurate. I think that alot more of those changes will come in the next 5-10 years even now and then mayby a lot more that havent even been thought of yet. It amazed me about how many of marriages were started online because you would think that most people or even a much larger amount of people would have met in real life, but for as many that started online its just amazes me.
in this presentation, i found out that mainly the u.s. and china are the highest advancements in the world. also before this video i had thought that there were many fewer people in the world. i also was very surprised to find out that many children go without a scholarship mainly in foreign countries.
I never knew technology could become so advanced that mabey one day it might even pass the human brain. I find it intriguing that people around the world actually get married and talk to eachother even though they might not have never met in person. All of this makes me think about what the future may hold for my generation and it will really impact academics in college will most likely be very different. It makes me feel weird even thinking about how much technology will change...
Technology is so advanced right now that it makes it even harder to believe what it will be like in the future. I can't belive people actually get married online and even talk to people that they haven't even met with. Academics will change massively and when im in college I will probably be learning in a whole new other way. Even thinking about how technology will change gives me a weird feeling.
