I believe that both the book and the video have rather large similarities. When the video says that we feed the machine and that the machine is us it shows that we are being sent to a more primitive time since we are slowly just becoming the machines themselves instead of humans. And in Anthem they are more primitive then the time before them because technology probably took over man and destroyed it since there was still light bulbs and things in the tunnel that Equality found it shows that technology was far more advanced from what it was at that time since that time uses candles. So to compare the two is easy technology slowly brings back primitive things.

This video and the book Anthem relate because the video kind of shows how on the Internet no one really has an identity, and no it is not individualized. At the end of the video it shows shows that. In Anthem no one really has an identity either, and it is all "we" not "I". They have to do what they are told, for their whole life. “We are nothing, mankind is all. By the grace of our brothers are we allowed our lives. We exist through, by and for our brothers who are the State.” page 21. This quote from Anthem shows that by themselves they are nothing, but together they are a vital force. They only live because of each other, if one falls, they all fall.

wesch's video contrasts Anthem more than it shows how they are alike. Wesch's video shows how we are constantly changing and creating new things, When equality showed the council his invention they said, "This would wreak the Plans of the World Council...Without the Plans of the World the sun cannot rise.

The video shows the stark contrast between our society and that of Anthem. Apparently today a new blog is made every half a second. In anthem the newest invention was made 100 years ago, and it is the candle. In Anthem, the society rejects new inventions, while we embrace them. "All great inventions come from the Home of the Scholars, such as the newest one, which was found only 100 years ago. However, there are similarities. The video said that the "machine" was using us, and that we are the machine. This is like Anthem because in it, there is no individualism, and each person was part of one big "machine".

The video relates to Anthem not in a major way, however it does very little. In Anthem, there is no technology in the society, but in the video, it is saying that technology is us. We are technology. I think the video is saying that we rely on technology too much. The video contrasts the society in Anthem. However, in the book, they mention the "Unmentionable Times". I think that those times where when the society had too much technology and it over powered people and changed much of the society. I think that this is what the video, is saying, we use technology so much, that it changes us and overpowers us.

This got me thinking because near the end it said we want to rethink this and there right. We need to rethink putting are lives on the screen for everyone to think depending to much on technology to rule are life. This relates to Anthem because while they did not have technology they were ruled by there brothers and the rules stating that no one man can think thoughts that are not there own.

I think I agree with the movie, when we criticize a computer its really criticizing our selves, we are the machine and the more technology grows the more we become help responsible. The way this relates to Anthem is because not only the machine,we are trapped as the machine.Just like equality was trapped in a world held responsible for not progressing with the world before it.

This video makes me think and believe that our world relies way to much on the Internet and what it has to offer... in my opinion our race spends way to much time online..i don't really know how i can reflect this video to Anthem because to me the two things don't have many or any similarities

The book anthem and the video, have the same similar idea that on both the Internet and in the book you do not have an identity. In some situations this can be a good and bad thing. Anthem shows not having an identity and not being recognized has an individual as a bad thing. But in the video it shows that sometimes being anonymous is a good thing. For example having your identity on the Internet, where everyone can see is not a good thing, therefore you have the option of being anonymous.

"us and the machine" makes me feel that our internet and our machines all reflect on what WE do. the machine doesn't control us because the machine does what we want. Anthem shows a connection between it and the video because it show how Equality wasn't going to be controlled, he was going to be the controller. So, to do this, he ran away to become what he wanted to be. "it has been a day of wonder, this, our first day in the forest." (78)After his ideas where shot down by the controller, which remind me of a machine telling people what to do, he ran away to find a better place to live. Equality showed how he wasn't going to be bossed around. therefor, "us and the machine" is I control the machine.

"We know not what this power is nor whence it comes. But we know its nature, we have watched it and worked with it." page 52. The blog was all about how much we value technology and how most of the technology we use today is very new and we do not know much about it. This is just like the electricity that Equality discovered. Equality is very much like technology inventors. He has discovered this new power, and is intrigued by it. But in the end it is "dangerous" and not accepted by the society. Technology these days is very dangerous. Most things on line are not trustworthy, and most profiles created are fake. In the end, it will work wonders. Electricity has. It has been used for hundreds of years. Technology will work wonders for us once we are able to use it responsibly and figure out exactly how it works. Just like the video said, we need to redirect technology, and make it safe and effective.

I think is similar to Anthem because, When the video talks about how the machine is us it is similar to how every character in Anthem is a machine and the council feeds into them. Equality is his own machine and he feeds into himself making him different for all the others. But all tied together everyone in Anthem is a machine and Equality is the only one trying to break away.

I think they relate because on the computer you dont really have an identity just like the society in Anthem. In
Anthem you dont have a singular identity because of the word we, and the society hates idividuality.

I think that the video and Anthem have some similarities. When we search the internet, the machine is doing work for us. We are kind of like the people that are in the council, making the same results for each person, to make everything the same. WE make the machine alive, feeding it.

The video makes me think about how far we've come with technology and how different things were just a hundred years ago. The way the video connects with Anthem is that in the video the writer had shown "We are the machine" and in Anthem that's how the council views things, everyone is part of the 'machine.' This is shown when Equality 7-2521 says to himself, "We are one in all and all in one. There are no men but only the great WE, one, indivisible and forever," because he's talking about how everyone is the same and part of the same thing.

This video made me think about when we look up Youtube videos or search something the computer is learning about us and what we like and are curious about. Also, I can't type that fast. I think this video connects with Anthem because Equality had to rethink about and learn how to be himself and not his brothers and I think the video showed how much computers can question us and what we like and what's our opinions. Equality was being questioned about right and wrong. what is good and what is evil? Also, Equality's society was was old and almost like cavemen time.so Equality showing up with the glass box. " And slowly, slowly as a flush of blood, a red flame trembled in the wire. Then the wire glowed." that right there made the council members question whether to stay the way they are or advance.

The video "Technology And "A Primitive Futuristic Society?"" was a rather inspiring video showing that we rely on technology, mainly the internet, so much. this video relates to the book "Anthem" on pg. 72 it states "Many men form the Homes of scholars have had strange new ideas in the past...but when the majority of their brother Scholars voted against them, they abandoned their ideas, as all men must." In their society it was frowned upon to advance themselves in technology while in our society technology is growing every day and more and more people are getting "hooked" on the internet. In some ways blossoming in technology is a good thing but is there a point where the computers are using us? So maybe we should have a limit on our technology like the society in "Anthem" It might help our society focus on life and not technology.

In Anthem, people were so limited by what they could do, they were forced to live only in the literal meaning or the word and not have any sort of personality. In today's society we are so free. We can choose how long we want to go to school for, we can have friends, play sports, create videos or books, we can be ourselves. The life sttyle, however is the same. They lived so simply that they didn't need to be intelligent, or creative to create a living and everybody had a job and a house and food and water. Today those simple things are what we take fifteen years of our lives to go to school to earn. This is how present day society and Anthem are the same.

This video entered my mind as that we have and will always rule over machines but sometimes the machines are us. There are humans and technology and the "top dog" as of right now is the human. Technology has grown unbelievably and i imagine will get a lot better. anthem was not as high into technology as we are but they still had a general idea that technology was huge and will get better. so the video and Anthem are similar and different in the same ways but i personaly believe the video says more than anthem does.

Us in the machine" relates to Anthem because they both show us how technology effects our lives. In anthem they are so taken over by the council and so limited on how they can live there life. Where as we with the advancements in technology can explore almost anything we want. In the video it shows how much we use technology that it has basically taken over our lives. In Anthem Equality says "We Equality have discovered a new power of nature, and we have discovered it our self." which states how crazy their lives are and how under developed in technology they are. And he is beginning to realize how important this "power" could be. It sounds almost impossible to live a happy life because they dont have the opportunities that we have today.

The video Futuristic Society was like Anthem because in the video the words said, "The machines are us" So its saying the computer is as smart as you. In anthem everyone is the same or should be the same. The council choses the rules and what happened with their life. Equality says We or Us because they were force to or he will brake the rules and be punished. That were the conections with the video and the book

"What is not done collectively cannot be good." In Anthem, they are all sort of expected to think and do alike and this video just made me think we kind of have to change and re-think our view on a lot of things and I guess the web can kind of change our opinion on things according to other's beliefs. Beauty, family, individuality etc.

The book and the video have many things in common. The video explains how technology becomes more advanced every day. In Anthem, technology was not allowed. Anthem and the video are about the exact opposite. In Anthem, if someone had technology they would get into a lot of trouble. On the internet, people use the technology so much. When technology becomes more advanced, the old society changes.

i don't really see the similarity between the book and the video. The book is about no technology and the video is only about technology.

There is large similarities between the book and the video because of identity. People don't have personality to be individual for themselves. In Anthem, indentity plays a huge role in showing things in the book. Things are changing for identity, in Anthem, and the video.
