It all happens in only a few seconds, something that is very different from the original story. Also, they had modern technology, such as cellphones. However, they still have the main points, such as the extreme miscommunication. They try to convey that even the simplest of things can be thrown far, far out of proportion.

This commercial updates the classic version of Romeo and Juliet because in the commercial, they used cell phones to talk, and in the classic, that stuff never existed. Plus, It did show how everyone died and such, but it was somewhat, different from the classical Romeo and Juliet.

It updates the play by putting in technology for communication. It makes me consider that even though we do have better communication and technology today, there are still mis-communications. They make the play a lot shorter and do it sarcastically but it is basically how the play happens.

The commercial was talking about was addressing the miscommunication of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo was supposed to get the letter but he never received it pronouncing a big misunderstanding and miscommunication. THey summed up the play in 30 seconds showing how fast people make different assumptions and how quickly things such as our lives can go by.

It shows the way they thought, they thought that death was a reasonable solution to love. Today we make a joke of that and laugh at it because its so ironic. However, that's how morals have changed, today we care more about human life than relationships, but they cared more about love than whether they lived or died.

this commercial show how quickly things would have gone in our modern time and also makes you think about how communication would have been sent to Romeo.

The commercial updates the book by making it more modern time with cell phone use and sort of by the way we talk. It makes me consider this book is old and if we brought into their time then we would have more of a understanding on the book. Just like how romeo and Juliets love for each other goes in to great detail and in the commercial it says maybe a few lines on there love for each other.

In this commercial, they summarize Romeo and Juliet in 30 short seconds to advertise a cellular network. There isn't very good communication in Romeo and Juliet, so it wasn't the best idea to use this play as their example. But it captures the fact that Juliet fakes her death, then Romeo kills himself, and when Juliet wakes up she kills herself at the sight of her dead Romeo. It makes me kind of think of the company as a little cheesy and that they aren't completely clear with the benefits of the project, but it was also a very intelligent idea. This commercial is taking a serious piece of literature, and in a way, mocking it.

This commercial makes me imagine what Romeo and Juliet would be like in modern day times. It shows how much tragedy was in the story, but with humor. The fact that they were talking to each other with their phones shows a "could've been" to the story. In the commercial they were definitely making fun of Romeo and Juliet and their predicament. the commercial showed even more the over-dramatic feeling of the play. It showed how much you can express in one word.

I thought the commercial we just watched in class was very funny. It honestly, is more entertaining than the book, mainly because it does a little better job at explaining what happens toward the end. I think it's kind of weird how they can do a summary of a whole play in 30 seconds when the book has five acts in it. The commercial made me notice the details of that specific scene and although, it is funny, it is very down to the point and knows the detail that the book has, but made it funny by making it more modern by using cell phones.

This commercial represents Romeo and Juliet as a more update version. This updated the classic by using cell phones, and talking like our generation such as "Ditto". This commercial made me think of how quick everything actually happened, such as when Juliet takes the potion then Romeo kills himself so Juliet kills herself after all. That part goes by so quickly that they both don't even realize they killed themselves over each other.

this commercial is the perfect summery of Romeo and Juliet, because it tells the whole story in a couple seconds.

The Nextel commercial makes me consider how in Romeo and Juliet that communication is the reason why both Romeo and Juliet kill themselves. This pretty much sums up the book itself, besides the details. This commercial shows how miscommunication can really blow things out of proportion.

It highlights how stupid and brash Romeo and Juliet's decisions were.

What I felt like this commercial was making fun of all the terrible timing that has occured in this text. Friar comes down to tell romeo just as romeo has drank the poison and the fight with tybalt just after the were both married. I also think that it is making fun of these characters reactions and maturity. I think it is showing they acted so rationally because they were kids.

This Nextel commercial show romeo and Juliet in a more modern twist. It also shows the lack of communication going on between the characters. But for Nextel it show or portrays how fast they are.

The commercial we watched in class today was very finny. i thought it was very cool how they made them modern and dd the summary in 30sec.

The commercial managed to cover the main points of the story within the span of a few seconds while still making it look comical and less tragic than the play was originally meant to be taken as. Romeo and Juliet's feelings for each other are undermined but the horrid lack of communication in the play was reflected in the commercial as well. Today things seem to be taken less seriously than they should and things are usually taken less seriously than is wise.

I think that the commercial is very strait to the point about the play and it basically sums up the play in about 30 seconds

The Nextel Romeo and Juliet still shows the main idea of Romeo and Juliet, in that things can be blown way out of portion and what can happen with miscommunication. It is modern because they use modern technology like cellphones. They accurately portray how fast pace modern society is, although it is still unrealistic.

The commercial was quite comical. It still had the setting of Romeo and Juliet but had modern language and cellular devises. Although it was funny it also did show all of the main parts in the actual play. At the end the Friar says "Kids" which implies that the youth are not very smart and are very dramatic. The commercial was short and sweet, advertising a phone company showing that the technology these days is fast.

The Nextel commercial updates Romeo an Juliet by using modern technology as communication that leads to mis-communication. The super fast pace mocks how fast Romeo and Juliet's relationship truly is. The video makes me think even more about the lack of thought that went into the decisions made by characters in the play leads to drastic consequences.

This commercial represents Romeo and Juliet because they use technology that they haven't used and made the play short and understandable, when she found Romeo dead she had a long conversation with herself but in the commercial she just says "no" explaining the play easier and faster

Nextel Romeo And Juliet commercial satirically update the "classic" Romeo and Juliet because the commercial shows that the phone is like the letter that never got to romeo and ended up killing them both. But in the commercial it summed up half the book in 30 seconds so it missed very important details.

The nextel commercial related to Romeo and Juliet because everything was so fast pace. In Romeo and Juliet, their relationship goes by very quickly and the company is trying to convey that their product keep you in touch and up to speed.

Nextel gives us the classic, and the modern "Romeo and Juliet". It shows how today everything is faster with our technology. Yet it gives us the story of Romeo and Juliet in 30 seconds flat. It also gives us the view that Romeo and Juliet is a very dramatic play.
