Yes, these two clips made me think about how quickly technology is advancing and the positive and negative things about it, such as if we advance to the point of lets say, robots, then jobs could be taken over by them, and the people who have them would probably be laid off. This would result in another economy crash and most likely be the begining of a chain of unfortunant events. Academically this could effect students of the present and future starting by upgrades in the technology used for their education, like who knows maybe in a few years instead of computers, we could be submitting our work through hologram screens. Advancing technology means advancing education, meaning school work and the priorities needed to be accomplished in order to pass would most likely keep increasing at a rapid pace, and I believe if things started advancing quickly enough, priorities of being able to pass a school grade would instantaneously become more difficult. Summing that up what I'm trying to say is that if technology advances at an alarming rate, so will the requirements for graduating general education. The view of the world would greatly increase, some parts more than others depending on the level of technical advancement. Like if suddenly all electricity/power sources crashed in all other parts of the world and somehow America managed to supply itself of power, the population would spike, and America would be viewed as a wealthy place, first-class, however you want to put it. Prety much the higher advanced a place is, the more highly thought of it is.

The "Did You Know" clips definitely impacted the way I think, like how our population continues to make more and more incredible technology and most people take it all for granted. We continue to outdate previous technology exponentially, and soon our technology will be smarter than us. This could possibly be a problem if we get to the point where our technology is so smart, that it could think for itself. If this happened it could lead to a mass takeover, and we will be considered as an inferior species to them. On the other hand, our technology may do nothing, but who knows. Pretty soon after our technology becomes better and cheaper, people will rely less on learning for you, but instead, relying on technology. We would slowly become dumber, and soon enough people workers will be replaced by robots. This of course would lead to mass unemployment, and the chain would continue and get progressively worse. The other aspects of the video also made me think. What is the purpose of learning in college if by the time you’re done, half the information is outdated, and the career you were studying for is gone?

Both of these presentations really got me thinking on how technology and academics in the world are so different than what I thought it was like. I had no idea that there are more honor students in India than the United States has students. It also scared ma a little that China will soon be the number one English speaking country in the world. After watching both of these videos I'm totally going to work harder in school because of what they said about the information you learn the first year on college will be outdated by you third year, I want to be able to know the most recent information available. My view on the world really changed because of what they said about the 10 most in demand jobs in 2010 didn't exist in 2004, it's crazy that teacher are traing students for jobs that aren't even around yet. Also the fact that almost 67 babies were born in the United State in the five minutes we took to watch the video made me think about how the popuation is growing and we can not sustain that many people being added to the United States every five minutes

These two videos really impacted the way that I think about our world today. It is kind of depressing that India has more honor students than we have students. Also it is kind of scary how fast other countries are advancing and how it seems compared to others that we are at a standstill. One thing that I wonder about is how accurate the info is, because these videos are somewhat dated. Overall I really liked these videos and I'll probably show others.

These videos was really eye opening for me. There were some good statistics and some bad. To think that cell phones could exceed the capacity of the human brain! Thats amazing and even a little frightening. Also, that the indians have as many honor students, as we do children in the united states! I am anxious but excited to see whats in store for the future.

These two videos really put into perspective how much the world is changing. Technology has developed so much over the past few years and will continue to do so. The world is such a big place with so many people. Think what the technology will be like in another 10 years. There could be robots and who knows what else.

This article made me think that the world is expanding, getting smarter by every day. and yes this video will change the way that i think about education. because they said we are being trained for jobs that yet exist witch is odd. Well because because there basically setting us up to fail. I mean were preparing for problems that may never happen. I also thought that our population crisis is getting out of hand. during the video almost 100 babies were born most in India and China. What also made me think is that there are so many people in the world that there are more kids in honors in India then there are kids in America. witch make you feel as if there are many people populating the earth with like 7 to 10 kids. Any ways that's what i was thinking after the videos.

The “Did You Know” videos definitely made me think because it showed me that technology is becoming more and more advanced and soon everyone will be dependent on it. It’s sad to think that someday there will be no more libraries, dictionaries, or jobs because computers or robots will be able to do that for us; however, these advanced computers will help increase learning abilities which will allow more academic information to be learned quicker than it is today. I was also alarmed to see that China will soon be the number one English speaking country and that India has more honor students than America. It seems as if the other countries around the world are rapidly growing and getting smarter while America’s growth has seemed to stop completely. I now realize that I need to work harder to become an accomplished student instead of just floating through high school. Overall, I am shocked that there are so many things I didn’t know about the world and my own country.

These two videos made me think about the world in a different way. The world has changed a lot in the past years. It makes me curious about what new jobs and inventions will be available soon. For example, Apple has come out with a multitude of products that didn’t exist a few years ago and Apple keeps inventing more! Sometimes technology makes life easier if you are open to change. It is very interesting that we are studying for jobs that we don’t know about yet. New technology can create conflicts, but there are many helpful features that can enhance our knowledge.

these videos were very interesting and eye opening i had no video of these statistics and things they are planning for in the future i had no idea that jobs that currently exist didn't exist in 2004 and that they will one day create a super computer that is smarter than the human brain that was a little scary for me to see

The "Did you know" videos made me think about how big the world really is. When the video refereed to how if you're "one in a million in China there are 1,300 people just like you," it reminded me of a recent commencement speech where the principal said to the students, " you're first in your class, so what, there are 37,000 just like you." The "Did you Know" is a video that can make you feel small. Yet it also shows you how incredibly internet dependent the world really is. I thought it was really amazing how teachers are preparing students for jobs that don't even exist yet.

The did you know clips had and unbelievable impact on everything I had previously known about our society. The part that stuck out the most to me was that in just 18 years there will be computers smarter than the people who made them. That to me scares me a lot. If machines can be smarter than humans then how would humans be able to stop them from taking over society. The clip states things about different countries. But I bet what didn't occur to a lot of people was what if those countries were completely ruled by systems that were man made and humans were just slaves. That is just the first part that really impacted me. The other was that there are more gifted Indian kids than there are American kids. I've always heard that the US was so far behind the other countries in academics but I had no idea that not only do they have a larger population than we do but they are more than doubling our amount of gifted individuals. That in my mind just makes me double think when people say the US is the most powerful country and is superior to the world.

Yes, both of the Did you know video clips made me think about how much bigger the world is than I originally thought. They defiantly changed my perspective on the world. Technology is advancing so much more rapidly than I thought. It is very scary to think that soon our computers will have a mind of their own. The other facts such as China will soon be the number one speaking country in the world or how India has more honor students than we have of any kind of student is kind a very sad statistic. I thought that America was a lot smarter than it really is.

Wow. Well, the question I am answering is a very vague question. or better, broad. All of those statistics were very interesting to start, but my biggest question is how. How have humans lost such sense of priorities? We have gone from barely a light bulb 130 years ago, to Facebook and Twitter for two hours a day. And the population statistics were amazing. Humans are a very inefficient and dumb race. Senseless of the world around us. Only caring about our immediate problems. When the huge problems hit, we won’t be prepared for them. I think more jobs in math and science and future preparation would benefit our economy and near future.

The two Did You Know videos had a big impact on me. These videos scared me in some way because of how fast technology is advancing and how schools are preparing students for jobs that don't even exist yet. The technology we had a few years ago almost seems old school to what we have right now. Also you have to choose more wisely of what you’re going to study because who knows what we will be doing in another 10 years. We are possible of so many thing and we know that those things are coming but are not yet invented yet. What also took me by surprise was that India has as many honor students and the United States has kids. That took me back a little because I always thought that the US had the upper hand on that stuff but I guess not.

These videos did make me think about how if a super computer is invented then what will be the purpose of anything if we have that kind of technology we will be just dependant on that computer to perform every task in our lives. Not to mention the fact that the biggest English speaking country is china and there are more honors students in India than there are kids in the U.S.

The did you know videos really made me think. It made me realize how small I am compared to the world. It also showed me how much technology has evolved over just this small amount of time. It also showed me to have an open m mind when looking for a job because it said that the average person will have fourteen jobs and that we are training for jobs that don't even exist yet.

The "Did You Know" clip(s) are not things to be taken with a grain of salt. These videos stress that my (our) generation will be the first generation since the 1800's to live in a world where America is not the world's strongest economy wise. Also the fact that we are in an environment where technology is so dominant we seem to rely on it and it alone. What people don't realize is that we aren't at the top anymore.

These two video's made me think about all the problem's that could be created because of our academic skills as a country are going down compared to China, and many other's.

These two clips made me think about how our academic status is going down, and we are falling behind China and many other area's of the world.

The video's really made me think on where technology and humanity is heading. In the right direction or the wrong? We really have to think about what could go wrong by advancing too much or too slow. Will we make society better by improving technology and making things easier to use, or by adding a little bit more extra time in a work out. It all comes down to: If I do this, what are the pro's and cons, what will be bad and what will be good?

This impacts my academic view on the world because it shows that how much stuff is going on around the world that I didn't know about. There were very many diffrent topics and how much things change and go up in a period or amount of time.

In "Did you know" 2 and 4 it impacts my academic by showing that America's test scores are getting worse, and that we need to work harder in school. This impacts my view of the world by showing how much technology is taking control.
