We see Anthem in our modern society in a few different places. Communist Countries have very strict rules. Such rules include the number of children you can have, the food you eat, to the businesses you buy from. Even school has very many Anthem qualities. One example of how school has Anthem qualities is how they control what we can and can't do, it is very mechanized, and they put restrictions on very many things. Like in school we cannot even drink water in class, what if someone is thirsty? Our society is becoming more and more and Anthem society as time goes on.

Anthem can be seen in modern society today by looking at the characteristics of people today. In society, everyone is a part of a collective group where people, especially the youth, are very rebellious. (like Prometheus) Students during school for example, will often ditch class, instead of attending, in an act of rebellion, or to cure certain boredom. Students (and teachers as well) follow a daily routine, and a schedule that only changes twice a school year. Everything has to be done, and solved in a particular matter. Cliques divide students as well. Some are separated by the sports they play, or the clubs they are in.

I see "Anthem" in our modern society because the Council is kind of like our government where they control almost everything. Also school is like "Anthem" because we are all told what to do and where to go each day. I also think "Anthem" is like our society because the rules in "Anthem" are like laws in America just not as harsh.

I see "Anthem" in every day life from people breaking laws and rules. Every day laws and rules are broken by people. School is also like "Anthem" because we are told what to do and how to do it when sometimes we don't want to but we have too.

Anthem relates to the modern society because school is like anthem. School relates to anthem because we have many rules to follow and in school some are rule breakers just like equality is.

A lot of times in society today we don't realize the freedom that we have. But sometimes we don't realize the limitations. A lot of times society contains this underlying pressure to be a certain way. This relates to the constant pressure in "Anthem" to always be equal, and nothing else. Society sometimes shapes people into things they never wanted to become before this pressure came into play. Much like laws made the people in anthem into scared people who they wouldn't have been otherwise.

Anthem is not like modern society. There are some places that have restrictions on the things you do, but there is nothing modern about not being able to live your life. There are laws that can relate to Anthem. If you break the law you get punished for it but not in the way Anthem punished people.

Anthem can be seen in several places in modern society. Characters like Equality can be found almost anywhere. There are lots of ambitious people in the world today. But not just one like in Anthem. Another example is how the society is formed today. In our eyes the society in Anthem seems too strict and harsh, but imagine if those people came here. Just like how when Equality and Liberty found the house it amazed them.In a way their society is similar to ours. But because of biast viewpoints, we all see each other differently.

Anthem and Our modern society are similar because people break laws and get away with it and not get in trouble. I think if our society was like theirs they should add probation to the law. Equality should have been on probation instead the house of detention.

Anthem can be seen in North Korea a society who doesn't communicate to many other countries and who's have strict rules to abide by or could face death. In North Korea if you speak out against your leaders you could disappear and never be found again. These punishments remind of Anthem because the guy that was burned said a word that was forbidden in that community and he was burned the punishments in North Korea are quite the same.

I see the opposite of Anthem at school. Instead over everything being controlled by the way you think, it is encouraged to be creative. But in the ways Equality wanted to break from his society it is opposite also because everyone at school wants to fit in.

I see anthem somewhat in life, mainly in the fact that our society is somewhat controlling but not like the society in anthem. I also see some of the charterers. I see lots of people like Equality in the scene that they are out going and daring.

You can see Anthem in the modern day because you will sometimes hear people saying that there life is like a clock. They just go by everyday doing the same thing at the same time. This could be like going to work everyday.

I see "Anthem" as a modern, communist-like society. They have a working government, they have a ruler, they have a council, and they have just about everything you need to have a well-run government. But in this society, everyone is equal, there is no one higher or lower than anyone else. In our society, we have 3 different classes of people, while "Anthem" only has one. I believe that "Anthem" relates to another country like North Korea than to ours because "Anthem" seems to have more of a dictatorship than a republic.

The book Anthem connects to our world now by having laws we have to follow, some people breaking them. Another way is Prometheus is very adventures, he breaks some of the laws they have in their city and some people in our society are adventures or break the law. There are many similarities just in small parts of the book.
