This connects to Anthem because in the video they had to be in the right place at the right time and in the society in anthem they had to be at the right place at the right time or they would be punished. This also does not connect to anthem because in the video they used a lot of creativity but in the Anthem society you are not allowed to because you are not thinking for the group.

Equality is very valued in Anthem. "No one person is above anybody else." Is a quote in Anthem that describes this. I think that Equality would be interested by the idea of this. For example, when an artist was pulled back super fast, he left the other artist in the dust. This must be how Equality feels. He is the most intelligent person in his society, he left everyone in the dust.

It is the antithesis of Anthem's society. Because in the video, they show how they can do whatever they want. Even if it takes a ton of time and effort to do it, they did it the way they want. This is the opposite of Anthem's society because in their society, nobody can do anything they want. Everything must be done a specific way, and nobody makes their own choices. In the video, they wanted to shoot themselves with paint guns, but they did it in a unique way which took them a lot of time and effort.

I think that this video is opposite of "Anthem" because each different part has a specific job unlike how in "Anthem" many people have the same job and they all do the same thing. All these parts in the experiment work together to do one job where as in "Anthem", the groups all work as one with the same job all completing the same task each day. Equality would see this experiment of his new life because it is individual instead of a group like in the City.

Because in this video everything is moving forward and it keeps getting bigger and better. In the anthem society they enjoy staying on the same path with moving forwards or backwards such as in this quote from chapter 1 pg 2 But we must never speak of the times before the Great Rebirth, else we are sentenced to three years in the Palace of Corrective Detention. It is only the Old Ones who whisper about it in the evenings, in the Home of the Useless. They whisper many strange things, of the towers which rose to the sky, in those Unmentionable Times, and of the wagons which moved without horses, and of the lights which burned without flame. But those times were evil. And those times passed away, when men saw the Great Truth which is this: that all men are one and that there is no will save the will of all men together.
This shows how they remained only on the one line and refused to move forward.

The people in Anthems society weren't allowed to be creative or do new things. This video is about creativity and doing something different that others wouldn't have though of."We were born with a curse. It has always driven us to thoughts which are forbidden." These thoughts should be thought of as bad and they should be used and encouraged. Being an individual with creative thoughts is so important in todays world.

There is creativity and they are also smart thinking and want to have fun and do what they want to do. Equality I think would like it because it is just like what he does in the story. "The light...the light...the light..." This shows he had an idea and creativeness to make something useful.

“The secrets of this earth are not for all men to see, but only for those who will seek them (pg. 52).” This relates to Equality because he was always thinking outside the box and being curious and creative. These men do a long string of events to get something simple done. Our society would say that is stupid. But that really relates to Equality because they all thought that his light bulb was a bad idea and he was stupid for breaking the laws. So over all they are very similar.

The video is different from Anthem's society because of the change. This quote shows how equality's invention was rejected because they do not like change. "You shall be burned the stake."(72 Rand). In the video they supported change by how the thing went from a ball rolling to a bowling ball to flying objects.

This music video shows many differences in the video and in Anthem. At the end of the video all of the people in the music video were splattered with paint. In the Anthem society everything is bland and nothing is very colorful. "The sleeping halls were white and clean and bare of all things save one hundred beds." (pg. 21 Anthem) This quote from the book is describing a building in the city. The building is described as lacking color and creativity. This video is the opposite. Everything they used to make the video was creative and exciting. There were many colors and different objects. Another thing that was different from Anthem was the parts of the video when the band members were alone singing. In Anthem everyone was supposed to do everything together and not be individual but in many part of the video the members were singing alone.

I think that the This To Shall Pass connects to Anthem because of the lack of change in the society. In Anthem they obviously want things to remain the same. There is evidence of this in anthem of how the council had rejected Equality's invention. It stated, "We can not alter the plans of the council so soon" Because of the fear in this society, they fear change. The video represented that because of one action, a whole chain of reactions started. Kind of how if they had accepted Equality's invention things would change.

The people of Anthem's society were not able to be creative in one type of way. "What is not done collectively cannot be good." The Council of Scholars does not believe, nor does anyone else believe, that anything that no one else thinks cannot be true. "This To Shall Pass" depicts that, even if no one else believes them but they only believe in themselves, they can do whatever they believe in. They believe in themselves and the people shown after the video believed in these men.

I think the video was more personalized on what people wanted it to be. In Anthem, there wasn't much personalizing in each individual or on the community. In Anthem a human cant plant a tree or add what they want to the world. IN the movie the people added what they wanted in their little community and got to personalize how they wanted to to be and what it should do.

This video realtes to Anthem because if you start just one thing you will see that it can lead to a whole different bunch of thing. This happened when equality first found that hole in the ground, and how lead led to the box which led to him going into the forest. After the events that happen you fell happy just like Equality when he said "We went on, without tough, without care, with nothing to feel same the song of our body."

This Too Shall Pass by Okay Go is very different from society in "Anthem" and it's values. The one difference that I really noticed was color. In the video the guys were in white suits splattered with paint. Each person had a different color. There was also lots of different, vibrant colors in the various stations of the video. This made the video more exciting to me. In "Anthem" the way Equality described some of the city is as follows. "The sleeping halls there were white and clean and bare of all things save one hundred beds." This is true for the rest of society in "Anthem." Everything was monochromatic, sterile, and plain. Nothing was different or exciting. Unlike the Okay Go video where everywhere you looked there was something new, colorful, and vibrant.

I think the difference between this video and the society in "Anthem" is that everything in this video had its own purpose. Everything had its own original thing to make the next thing do what it did. In Anthem it didn't seem like anyone had their own original purpose. The council picked the jobs for them even if the person didn't want to do it and nobody really had a purpose.

The difference between the society of Anthem and the activity occurring in the music video is the fact that in the video, creativity and science create the main idea that the people of Anthem have had their own minds taken away from them. "We had never heard of these mountains, nor seen them marked on any map. The Uncharted Forest has protected them from the Cities and from the men of the Cites." (Page 88) This quote comes from a passage in Anthem discussing the beauty of nature. In his society, Prometheus never had the right to freely think, to create of to discover. He was forced to think alike to the rest of his brothers. This contrasts to 'This Will Pass' because the ones who made the video payed very close attention to detail, and created such an elaborate machine to achieve such a simple task. The people in the Anthem society have no freedom to do anything like this.

The song relates to Anthem's values because the society believed that everything must be planned out correctly and their is no choice what job or anything else. This relates to Equality because he broke the boundaries and rebelled about what his society was about. In the music it took so long to do an easy task such as equality's society how the scholars discovered a candle when Equality discovered the light bulb the materials were left from the once great society but the scholars never bothered to use the materials.

In the "Shall this pass" music video it shows a great connection to Anthem due to the fact that it was a large amount of people in this group working towards a greater goal just like the Anthem society does. A quote that shows this uniformity is "No one man is above anybody" I think this shows the true team effort both were.

Color, Explosiveness, creativity, and expressionism are all characteristics found in the This To Shall Pass by Okay video. but none of theses characteristics are found or are welcome in the dull society of Anthem. Everybody is forced to remain equal in the society of anthem. If anyone were too anything like this it would be considered not serving their men and they would be punished at The House of Detentions. The book states, "The sleeping halls were white and clean and bare of all things save one hundred beds." This demonstrates the dullness and lack of creativity in Anthem that is the opposite of the video.

Throughout the video this exhibited how in anthem everything happened for a reason in order for the outcome of the chain reaction and I found a quote that represents this of when equality said "this god, this one word I" and all of this searching for the answer.

The music video to This Too Shall Pass and Anthem may not seem to have anything in common, but if you look deep enough It actually does have some similarities. For example, On page 59 the book states "We made it. We created it. We brought it fourth from the night of the ages. We alone. Our Hands. Our mind. Ours alone and only." This quote relates to This Too Shall Pass because of the pide. Equality created his inventions alone and was proud of what he made while in This Too Shall Pass they made their video. Although they made it in a group, they were proud of it. Just like Equality was.

"the glass box with the power of the sky" this quote shows how equality is ready to show what he as found=d outside his society. This video show the items that they have come up with and his society would forbidden.

This video relates to Anthem in many was. Equality was proud of what he made, his new power was very important to him. "For the first time we care about out body, For this wire is as a part of our body, as a vein torn from us, glowing with our blood." The band loves the music they make and they don't care what others think about how they did their music video or how they wrote it. Equality felt the same way about electricity. He knew it was valuable and he wasn't going to let anyone tell him otherwise.

The music video and Anthem are different because in the music video, each step depended on the step before. And if the smallest step didn’t work out they had to restart and try again. Were in Anthem there really is no steps. Only the big “steps” so the scholars matter.”How dared you gutter cleaner,” page 72 shows that even the person with the smallest job doesn’t matter, which in the video and our society is not true.

This video exhibits the antithesis of what is valued in Anthem’s society because the society in Anthem is very simple, and there are no extra steps leading up to a single goal. In this video, This Too Shall Pass, There are a numerous amount of steps, leading up to only a single goal.
