One should know that the Scopes and Monkey trail was a trail in 1925 with John Scopes, a non-native, Christian teacher, who was hired to break the Butler Act ,teach the theory of evolution. John was arrested and William Jennings Bryan, a fundamentalist, politician, and the prosecutor of the trial. Fundamentalist believe that the Christian Bible was the literal one-and-only Truth.

I think that everyone that is reading Inherit the Wind should know what the butler act is(it prohibited the teaching of evolution in Tenn.) Also they should now that it took place in 1925 and it took place in Tennessee. Finally you should know it was a country wide trail and it still effects us today.

One of the items that the audience should know about the Scopes Monkey Trial is that the main man that was involved was a teacher by the name of John Scopes. Another item the reader should know is that Mr. Scopes was arrested because he taught about evolution, which was against the law. The outcome of the trial was John was found guilty, but later was overturned, and fined $100. One more piece of information that would be important is that this took place during 1925.

Some of thew different aspects about the trail are. For starters you have that it is going against religion, and beliefs. This trial set a law that one is only to talk about your religion in a church. Who really wants to do that. This trial also showed how some people can just be bride and cruel, and others care so much about a believe they will go any where to help the cause they fight this one happened to be religion.

Four important historical contexts from The Scopes Monkey Trial are that it was a trial with John Scopes, a teacher, also the defendant; against Williams Jennings Brian, the prosecutor. The trial was brought to court because John Scopes taught Evolution in school although it was prohibited. This raised much controversy as the separation of church and state was at hand and with the many protestant and atheist groups fighting for their side in the teaching in Evolution and the separation of church and state.

One fact that could make the trial so historical is how John Scoops went agents the law to show what he believed in and for a cause. Another part is how Scopes attorney was a popular and and good very good at his job. Then the fact that the person going agents him was and antievolutionist and politician. The reason why this trial become so popular was the fact that it was the first trail to be broadcasted live.

The four Items that I think one should know about the scopes monkey trial is when the Scopes Monkey trial was, what the trial was , why John Scopes got arrested, and they should also know what the first amendment does and doesn't protect.

Some things that are important to note before reading Inherit The Wind is for one, what the case is actually about. The two sides are divided because one believes in evolution and the teaching of Darwinism, while the other believes in Christianity. John Scopes had been arrested because he was teaching about evolution when he was not allowed to do so. Also the First Amendment protects the right for the citizens to posses the freedom of speech, assembly and religion. In the 1920's fundamentalists believes that the Christian Bible was literally the one and only truth, and that all other ideas were false.

There are four very important items that need to be recognized while reading "Inherit the Wind". The first, would be the fact that the teaching of the evolution of mankind is extremely illegal. The second thing would have to be that at the time, the community was not as accepting of other people's beliefs/religions. The third, is the fact that the First Amendment protects the freedom of speech, religion, and assembly. This is important because the reader should decide whether or not this Amendment should have protected John Scopes. The last item that needs to be recognized is how fundamentalists were very common back in the 1920's.

There are definitely more than four items that one should know about the historical context of The Scopes Monkey Trial, but I am going to talk about the four most important. One of the four important items was that before the trial evolution could not be taught at any schools and was barely even a thing. Another important item is that the first amendment to the Constitution was that everyone had the freedom of religion, but when Scopes tried to teach this new "religion" in school that didn't end well. The third item is that in Tennessee teaching evolution was illegal but Scopes was bribed to teach it and he also believed in it. Lastly the reporter of the trial was a non-native reporter who was famous for his caustic remarks.

There are many things that could be beneficial to understanding Inherit the Wind. The book is about the Scopes Monkey Trial in 1925. This was a trial that involved Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan. The argument was over if they should teach evolution or the Bible. The trial occurred because a man decided to teach evolution in a classroom in Tennessee instead of the Bible. This went against the Butler act that made teaching evolution against the law.

I think everyone reading this should know it has to do with teaching evolution in schools. They should also know that it took place in 1925 and John Scopes the defendant was a teacher. The last thing you should know is this trial attracted nation wide controversy which still shapes our life today.

I think that one of the things that people should know about Inherit the Wind, is the idea of fundamentalism and what role it has on Scopes and the Christian ideas. The Butler Act is why Scopes got arrested and his thoughts on evolution. This trial shows the religious against other ideas which comes out on top during this time period.

Clarence Darrow was his defense attorney while William Jennings Bryan was a prosecutor. John Scopes was found guilty but his conviction was overturned. Lastly, John Scopes wasn't against religion or Christianity, he didn't even know if there was a God or not.

One thing that you should know about is why the scopes monkey trail even happened. It was caused because people wanted to put the town if Dayton on the map. How did they do this? They caused the trial of john scopes. He was accused of trying to teach evolution to his students. The famous lawyer Clarence Darrow was hired to take the case. Many people heard about this and it became the case of the "century"

The most important things to know about “Inherit the Wind” before reading would be what the Darwin Theory of Evolution is, who John Scopes was, what a fundamentalist is, and when the Scopes Trial took place. It would be important to know what the theory of evolution is because this is what John Scopes was accused of teaching. And of course John Scopes is the person who was accused of teaching this theory of evolution. He is in some ways the main character. The fundamentalists are all of the people who opposed the theory of evolution and John Scopes. They believe that the what the Bible says is the only truth. This trial didn’t take place recently. It would be important for the reader to know that the events that took place were in the past and that obviously times have changed. Everything in “Inherit the Wind” revolves around these four important elements to the story.
