The Simpsons version of Homer's epic poem is at most points very inaccurate but it does point out some aspects of this literature. One thing that it points out is how the gods were really just playing with him because of what he did. Also it shows how he is the only survivor in the end.

The Simson's satire many things in Odysseus. It satires the aspect of Odysseus wanting to come home and Odysseus' attitude. They didn't seem to yearn coming home and Odysseus was not wise nor witty. Everything was cut short and done humorously.

The Simpsons show relates to the book by showing that he had to kill the sutler and that Circe transformed his men into animals. The main difference is that the wasn't a huge fight when he got home and he didn't have to shoot his bow through arrows to prove it was him.

The Simpson's version shows Oddyseus as a "hero" and that he was very selfish whereas in the real book it showed his as a ring leader who didn't care about his men. In the book he was showed as a guy who kills others and lets his men die and in the video he was showed as the guy who eats his friends and doesn't really kill anyone.

In this video I think the Simpson are making fun of the way on how Odysseus kept getting away from is home. This can be show when the guy flicks the boat and he end up someone way off his route. This makes me then think about just how crazy it I how he would keep going to many different places and how long it look to get hime.

The Simpsons version mocked the real story and deprived the real story of itself and this one made it feel like it was just joking and no one cared but I found it true how Homer didn't care about his crew by eating them which showed Odysseus on his part of caring about his crew

The simpsons episode starts by making fun of when they try to go through the straight of the sirens. The sirens are two very ugly woman who just have very beautiful voices. The ship quickly turns around and rows away quickly. In the next scene they land on the island of Circe where all of Homers friends turn into pigs because they were so stupid that they drank out of the cauldron that was surrounded by skeletons. Homer then comes along and is stupid enough to eat his friends even though Circe tells him that he is. Homer than makes it home where he is reunited with Marge and he kills all the suitors.

It has some of the characters and the suitors and the journey and Circe and Posidene and it showed the travels pretty well and when he got home it shows also what happened to the suitors and how she felt when he came home.

The Simpson's version resembles the key points of the poem into the movie. The movie shows how Odysseus made terrible decisions during his journey such as going to see the Cyclops and how his men drank for Circe's Calderon because they were not respecting her house rules. To really show Odysseus true color's as a so called hero.

The Simpsons film related a lot to the original Odyssey Books. Odysseus was away from his hometown of Ithaca for over 20 years. Some differences were that when Odysseus came home, he didn't kill all of the suitors, he strung his own bow and he also shot a bow through several barrel holes. This video clip was mostly accurate, but some of the events were either nonexistent or were misinterpreted.

I think that the Simpons version of the Odyssey showed how close Odysseus got to his home before he was sent on a different route again. Everything in the short clip was cut down and it didn't show as many of the feeling that the crew and Odysseus had.

The Simpsons version satirize's Odysseus' selfishness. In the Simpson's version he ate his friends, and disregarded his wife. This version depicted his visit with Circe's, his men turning to swine, the Gods ailing his journey, his journey through the underworld, and his return home and killing of the suitors.

The video segment from the Simpsons is very similar to Odysseus, with the exception of a comical twist. The segment shows that Penelope is very forgiving, even though Odysseus had been absent for 20 years. The video provides a visual of the reality Odysseus and his team faced, and made it seem a lot less dramatic then it really was. Though the video segment didn't show every aspect from the story (such as the battle against the sirens), the visuals showed the map and the action from the series of books. It also shows that Odysseus is not very thoughtful, and eats his own shipmates and is aloof to the advice around him. (Circe telling Odysseus that he was eating his friends for hours (Simpson version)).

The Simpson's version of the Odyssey Books mainly focused on humor, not accuracy. In the film, Homer plays Odysseus. He is very ignorant. But, through his actions, a couple valid points were shown. At one point, Homer eats all of his friends, causing him to be the only survivor. Also, the gods punished him by flicking his ship away from his island. This portrays the same message as the story did.

The film was very exaggerated from what really happened. This silly foolish comedy was not at all similar to the book. The touch some major points, for example Odysseus comes home he had a lot of struggles. So this is what I thought about this foolish comedy.

The Simpsons version of The Odyssey makes fun of many different parts of the real version. They made fun of the sirens, Circe and his wife Penelope. It also made fun of Odysseus' attitude and his selfishness and ignorance. In the Simpsons version and the real version all of his men are lost and in the Simpsons Homer eats them which is showing that it was his fault. The lady also says that he knew he was eating his men and every time he lost men in the books he knew he was going to. This illustrates and emphasizes many key parts of the books and this helps me remember the book better. This makes the book seem less serious after watching it and it makes the characters seem less serious as well.

The Simpsons version was different and also accurate in different ways. It was different when he ate his own crew on Circe's island and it was different when he didn't have to shoot his bow and there was only about 5 suitors. It was the same how the suitors were trying to marry his wife and how Poisiden was messing them up on their journey. It also made me think about how Poisiden kept them at sea for so long.

This clip relates to the Odysseus because the theme is the same. The theme is the same because it is about overcoming challenges and in both these stories the main person overcomes this and reaches a common goal. Another example is that the characters themselves do not have much respect for his other mates. One common thing in both of the stories is that they have a common ending and a common hardship.

In the Simpson’s video of the Odyssey, it has many incorrect aspects, such as Homer eating all of his hog friends, and how he kills all of the suitors with just one spear, but it does highlight some things that were true such as Homer being gone for many years, the suitors fighting over his wife, and the Gods playing with him, keeping him from returning to Ithaca.

The Simpsons version of the Odyssey satirized many things, including Poseidon's power. It definitely was humorous and made light of a lot of things. But the key aspects were pretty much on target. Like how Homer was gone for 20 years and Marge finally said okay to the suitors.

The simpsons version of the Odyssey is a very inaccurate composition. There was no good connection. No river of Styx, and hardly any other trials.

The Simpsons satirized the Odyssey in a humorous way. At the beginning it represented the men as naive in a way when they went to the first island. The character Homer I think represented Odysseus because Homer is a not so smart person, and that connects to opinions of Odysseus' actions throughout his journey. There were a lot of differences between the two pieces though. Like how Odysseus did not eat the pigs when they were his men, and how he did not completely kill the suitors at the end.

In the short Simpsons video based on Homer’s The Odyssey I could tell that the makers focused on criticizing Odysseus and his decisions. At the end of the video when Odysseus and Penelope are finally back together he expresses that he is glad he’s finally back, she reciprocates and he says something like, “Ah geeze Penelope stop squishing me…” This kind of sums up Odysseus and his long trip. In it he was selfish and inconsiderate, but other times he was loving and giving. In the Simpsons video the makers pinpointed certain aspects of Odysseus in The Odyssey in a short and concise video summary.

The Odyssey compares to the Simpsons video by having the same plot. Also by the main characters Odysseus and Homer having the same characteristics. The plot is the same by having the same names with the countries and the God names and what happens throughout the story. And mainly just the main characters attitude towards his crew and how he feels about himself.
