Based upon our interactive masque and the text of Romeo and Juliet
to date, what is your assessment of the play's dramatization of a young
relationship? Time? Fate? Infatuation? Love? Argue and explain.
This blog response is due during class today.

I think the whole relationship between Romeo and Juliet isn't a good way of showing love. They basically met, and fell in love within 30 seconds. Romeo is much older than Juliet (who is 13!), and they're still "in love." I think this has nothing to do with fate, and if it did, fate would wait until Juliet is older. I also find it hard to believe that two people can literally fall in love and marry within 24 hours.
After our activity I have learned that in Romeo and Juliet their timing was perfect. The chance of those two meeting on any other occasion with feuding families is slim to none. Meeting each other was completely fate because they met at a party that Romeo should have never gone to. As soon as Romeo say Juliet he had fallen in love with her. It seems as if he would do anything to get the opportunity to talk to Juliet.
I think Romeo is at first was stacking Juliet from the first time that they say each other. But when the two of them meet they knew that they lived each other and that they were in love. Also you could tell toward the end of the part in the end of the movie that there love was going to be a problem.
It seems as if it is the norm to see a young woman and instantly fall in "love". The time that it takes is very short, from the first encounter to marriage seems only a month at the longest. It's very odd because everyone becomes head over heals, and they throw out compliments and say I love you like no big deal. And in the unfortunate case when a lady says she doesn't love a man back, it seems like it's the end of his world after he met her not only a couple days ago.
I think that the fate of the young relationship was meant to be. Although they were from different families and what not Romeo still tried his hardest to be with Juliet and he did everything he could to see her and to be noticed by her.
I think that it is Kind if silly because who its going to have a live like that in reality. I see it has to unrealistic to happen in or world and that in the end it all works out perfectly. So I believe it is silly to do this and dance was to complicated for anything but that time period.
The timing of the meet shows the fate. If they had seen each other elsewhere, they never would have fallen in love knowing that they were from enemy families. The fate of the two definitely occurred that night, because the chances of them being together are so slim. The conflict between the families can be seen at the arguments the two have with each other, the intense fighting, displays that the two cannot quarrel again. Romeo and Juliet recognize all that is at stake with their love, which is why it must be kept secret. None the less, the fact that Romeo and Juliet were in love after just a moment shows that the love is more focussed on the external (appearance etc) rather than the internal.
I think the play overdoes the relationship and how quickly it moves. It makes for a good story but it would not happen in real life. I think that Romeo became obsessed with Juliet and they connected during the Masque. Young love happens quickly and this play shows how quickly it does. I think the timing for them to meet was perfect and this was part of why they fell in love. I think that they both believed that fate brought them together.
I think the play's assessment of the young is that they are spontaneous or quick decisions without thinking. I also believe that the Fate aspect of this is emphasized and it is not just coincidence that they just met.
Romeo and Juliet dramatizes love in many ways. Personally I believe that you can not fall in love right away. Love at first sight is just a myth in my opinion. But it is something that is very popular and wanted. And Using that technique works well because people want it but can't get it. It portrays it very well to and it's success has made an impact on many other books alike and on peoples thoughts about love.
MY assessment of the play's dramatization of a young relationship is that it is very spontaneous. Their was so many factors against the meeting of Romeo and Juliet showing that it had to be pure fate and luck, referring to the constantly used term of star-crossed lovers. Their instant connection also is a play on their ages, their youthfulness played to the short time span of their falling in love.
It really brings the puzzle pieces together because I can see that Romeo and Juliet are starting to bond with each other, even though they just met. This is the beginning of what is to come in their relationship, love, and fate. This really sets the type of drama that will happen throughout the rest of the text.
The play says they are in love but could they really be, I mean they haven't even known each other for twenty four hours. So, they hardly know each other and if they did not commit suicide in the play they might have found out that they did not in fact love each other. Plus when they are kids that young they probably don't know what is in their best interest. But I guest in this time they are about middle aged people.
I think if two individuals have the same feeling towards each other, I think then why not give it a try. The situation Romeo and Juliet is a little tricky to love each other because of the two families that dislike each other and the amount of time they "fell in love." I personally don't think their is love at first sight, it takes a certin amount of time to really like some one and start loving someone.
I think that Romeo and Juliet are too young (especially Juliet) to know what real love is. I don't think that just a kiss would make them fall into love. And I don't think that they would fall in love within a day.
The play over dramatized the young relationship between Romeo and Juliet. The play made it seem like it was this perfect encounter between the two. When in today's world two people would never fall in love just from seeing each other. Also, Romeo and Juliet were basically just kids which shows how immature their relationship was. It may have been fate that they met each other, and they definitely were infatuated with each other, but the play took that farther then the reality would have been.
I think that the relationship between Romeo and Juliet was a typical example of "love at first sight". When Romeo first sees Juliet, he thinks that she's the one, and she's more beautiful than anything. Not only that, but they didn't even think about this crazy thing until after they had already shared their feelings for each other. Towards the end of the first act, you could see that Romeo and Juliet were going to have problems because they were from feuding houses.
After the dancing and reading the text in Romeo and Juliet, I thought that the time they met was pretty good because it was at a party where they were having fun and socializing. When Romeo and his friends went to the party they were supposed to be at, it showed the fate in the way that they met and fell in love. If they were anywhere near each other at a different time, they could have not even met or talked with the other. The people from one side could have stopped or pulled Juliet away from Romeo because he was a Montague.
In Romeo and Juliet, its shows that young relationships are fun, daring, risky and enjoyable. They aren't supposed to be dating, which makes it mysterious and rebellious. Its supposed to be true love, and sometimes young relationships can work out if there isn't any problems and both people are committed, serious and really does love the other. But in this, there is a problem, which gets in the way of the relationship. Their parents won't allow it and there is no communication. And both end up dying because of that.
The whole relationship and "love" between Romeo and Juliet is kinda hard to believe they are in love after only 24 hours of even knowing each other, and to get married within that same 24 hours is crazy. True Love takes time, a lot more than 24 hours. Fate? Well fate can wait, and fate would wait. There love isn't real it's just something they think, but deep down it's not true love.
In Romeo and Juliet, the young love between the two kids is very much so sped up and exaggerated. It is portrayed as love at first sight which may be a real thing to some, and fantasy to others. As soon as they see each other the two star-crossed lovers are immediately infatuated with one another. This is obviously a play so it is more dramatic than anything in real life, but it is more intense because everything has to happen in such a short amount of time. Another aspect of the play that is kind of perfect is the timing/fate. Shakespeare makes everything perfectly lay out so that Romeo and Juliet can have a flawless love. But then he throws in the aspect of family rivalry that marred the perfect relationship. Romeo and Juliet's relationship is like the dance we did in class, it is supposed to look and be perfectly performed and executed, but there are always flaws and missteps .
One thing about how they dramatization the relationship between Romeo and Juliet is that they fall in love right away and that most likely could not happen in real life. The time this play is supposed to take place is very clearly a long time ago which they really make clear in the play. The fate of the two characters is easily guessed when they both feel like the love each other even though they just met each other at a party. They believe that they have love at first sight but they really dramatize the love when the two just met each other. These two believe they love each other even though they barely know each other.
The ballroom scene has to do with fate because I don't believe Romeo and Juliet would have met ever again since their families hate each other. I don't completely understand how they fell in love love and decided to get married within 24 hours because it takes a big commitment to marry someone. The time matters because if this was during the 21st century romeo wouldn't be allowed to date a 13 year old. The story Romeo and Juliet is a good love story for their time period but would be wrong if it happened now.
I think fate has a big part with Romeo and Juliet "falling in love" because if Romeo and his homeboys hadn't of ran into the messenger guy that couldn't read they probably wouldn't have went to the party. Also Romeo didn't know who Juliet was when he read the list. Then they met and liked each other at a party that Romeo shouldn't have even have been at. The timing was also perfect with the messenger and Romeo and Juliet seeing each other. But I don't think they have found real love in 30 seconds of talking and seeing each other.
I think that Romeo and Juliet fell in love because of time and fate. If the "mail man" could have read and if Romeo and his cousin would not have been outside then they probably wouldn't have known a party was happening. They Romeo and Juliet would have never met. But thinking that 2 people fell in love in such a short amount of time just makes you think that it just depends on the people. And how they are still in love with each other even when their families are enemy's.
I do not like the idea of this play, I have said this before, the reasons I don't like it are plain and simple. I don't think there can be love at fist sight. I think that the only way Romeo was tempted for Juliet was if she was offering a lot more than just simple love. Another reason I don't like the play is the convenience of the plot. In three days there is a fight, people die, the prince declares a death penalty, and neither side stops to mourn, bury their dead, or have a moment of silence. No, instead they throw parties, all of which have Juliet, Who happens to have just turned the correct age for marriage, and who falls for Romeo faster than Romeo fell for her. Fate may have had a role, then again there is so much convince for the plot that I don't even care if fate was involved, I don't belief this play.

The play's dramization of young love is bad because its saying he saw her and just on her looks loved her and that is not young love. The fate of it wasn't there it was on luck of it all and he had luck on being there and was pushing it to go and meet her all he did was have luck and push his luck. The love in it is when they only meet and it just stayed because they had each only thought about one other person and Juliet didnt like hers and Romeo was rejected and they just met feel in "love" and then they didn't meet any other people they could have loved. There is no love for a while because all they did was see each other and love each other and then get married in 24 hours which is impossible to have true love in that amount of time.
Dramatization is a little extreme. Two young people meet they fall in love and marry within a few days. This is a very unlikely event in real life. A reason they may have felt that they had to be so attached to each other is that they both were suffering so they become super attached becuse they were looking for someone to make them happy.
The love of Romeo and Juliet was a strong one. They had a chance encounter and it was hinted in the reading that their love would not last long. Juliet is much younger than Romeo and that affects their relationship also Juliet believes that their love would never end romeo believes all good things must come to an end.
I belive that their relationship isnt love the are 13 and 17 and have married within 24 hours and killed themself soon after the fell in love in a few seconds and i think love at first sight is impossible because you have to know someone for more than looks.
