I don't like the idea of Romeo and Juliette getting married in only 24. hours. It is pure fantasy. Love does not come at first sight. Love comes after a long time with them. Their love isn't real which makes it all the more sad when one dies with another.

The thing that is essential is that a perfect mate is that they should love you for you while they love themselves just as equally. Along with that, they should be loyal and trustworthy. If 100% loyalty can be gained along with 100% trust then you can achieve a perfect relationship. I have experience with somewhat knowing Romeo and Juliet's situation. I have never been in love where I would kill myself for the other person but I have where I gave all of my time for the one and I was head over heals for. Love is a great thing, but at the same time it can be dangerous as well. It crazy that it makes me think that they would end their lives for each other just after one day. Maybe after years and year and years where you have dedicated your life to them and you've lived with them. If you know them so so so so well and then a case can be argued for it. These days, there is no such thing as love at first sight. It's more like a blind gamble. If they appeal to you there are other "tests" to be held like how they act, how they treat you, and you cannot determine that with just one look.

The amount of knowledge and correct answers my parents and I shared between us surprised me when it comes to my 'perfect mate'. My situation with my relationships and my parents is far different from Romeo's and Juliet's. For both Romeo and Juliet's parents they have a set mate in mind with their ideal characteristics. It infuriates their parents when they find each other and fall in love when it was the specific mate they had chosen. In my situation my parents chose characteristics based on me and my personality instead of their ideal characteristics.Instead of saying "I would want.. for McKenzie. They said "she would need someone who..."

I have to disagree with the idea of Romeo and Juliet for several reasons. I think that in order to love someone, you have to see the worst of them and still be into them. Romeo and Juliet basically met, kissed, "fell in love", and married within 24 hours. I think love isn't a word that should be thrown around like it is meaningless.

This activity is I look for a person that will like me for me and has a great personality this relates to Romeo and Juliet by loving each other because of their relationship and not on how rich Juliet is and how different they are in this world. Also usually our parents don't choose your mate because you have to find your true sole mate through trail and error.

While completing the Perfect Mate handout, it was odd to think about what I would want in a person. This form contradicts Romeo and Juliet's experience because they instantly fell in love without even knowing some of the non-physical traits. Most of the traits I listed were non-physical like honesty, happiness, and fun to be around. Also, it relates because Juliet's parents wanted her to marry Paris, just like how most parents want their children to marry someone with certain traits. This makes me think how different it is today from Shakespeare's time, because in today's world love is viewed differently, and occurs in different forms.

The idea of romeo and julet is just a fable because they have love and it seems so perfect, But then when they die, all of the sudden the familys are happy and get along. In many cases thier are no aranged marrages other than royal famillies and that is even weediling out. I know iwht my parents they said alot of simmilar charactics that I said so it is important because, even though i would want to pick my pown mate. I would belive that it would show that they could pick a good mate for me even though i rather find my mate. But i belive they could have found someone that I would get along with and grow to love. But I can not see how a person could just chocie one because they have money and wish to marry your child. So I am glad my parents are willing to chose someone that would be compatable with me. In a way juliets parents did not care about that. So I belive it is good when your parents can find somone that is really for you.

I think that everyone has many expectations for a "perfect mate". Everyone has a different idea of perfection. For some it is mot as much about physical appearance but more about respect and characteristics. I don't think that it is the best option to get married in 24 hours without learning enough about the person to get a clear picture. In Romeo and Juliet they are married right away without knowing everything that is needed. You never know what hidden thing will be revealed over time and these things are important for a relationship.

As I completed the "Perfect Mate" handout I definitely had to really think about what I would want in my future spouse. People change significantly over the course of a lifetime. So, writing what I want right now in a husband I know won't connect up exactly with what I might want inn one 10 years from now. Also, while completing the handout I wondered what my mom was going to write for what she would want for me. I had a pretty good idea of what she might say but I wondered if she would know what I would write on my side. I think that this exercise is really interesting because it forces a person really contemplate their wants and/or needs in a perfect mate. As I grow older, I realize that Romeo and Juliet's love might exist with others, in terms of love at first sight, but with me I couldn't possibly fall in love without spending lots of time with that person. This perfect mate handout made me really think about what I want, and in some ways cleared my thoughts and desires for the future.

It is important to have someone who appeals to you for what you share and how you get along and getting to know the person for who they are and this relates to Romeo and Juliet because they like the way they are for who they are and not letting anything stand in their way and they are trying to keep it. Parents will rarely say the same thing as you for what you see in a perfect mate for you and that's because they have their preferences and lieks.

One thing that is essential to share is that the main components of your perfect mate is mostly loyalty and trust in one another. This survey relates to Romeo and Juliet because even though two people can be different by parents they are really alike in many ways. One difference is many parents do not tell their kids who to marry and who to stay away from, they just give suggestions in the most polite form possible. This makes me think that times have changed and parents are way more relaxed with whoever their son or daughter marry. This also makes me think that people now a days do not give everybody a chance to love because of their looks. This makes me contemplate love and if it is possible to fall in love at first sight which I do not believe is very possible. Romeo and Juliet fell in love but because of people saying it will not work work they both ended up dead but now society can accept many forms of love.

Someone needs to be ready for a relationship before jumping into one. Commitment to the person and making time for them, needs to happen. The partner should be compassionate and uplifting, and ready to support the emotional needs of another person. Until marriage, or until a relationship becomes very serious, one shouldn't be dependent on the other. Not only this, but a serious devotion to their religion (if it were me I would want someone who is Christian, and that would be the most important aspect to me) becomes very impressive in my opinion. Someone who likes to socialize, (Romeo and Juliet met at a ball) who is extroverted, and kind to those he meets, makes a caring person. Relating to Romeo and Juliet, one cannot emotionally connect to someone within such a short period of time. It's important to be careful when to be emotionally vulnerable with one's partner.

Honestly, Romeo and Juliet would not happen in this day in time. Many, not all, parents don't really have a say in who their child will grow up and get married to. I think now a days people don't really believe in love at first sight. I too believe that. But if Romeo and Juliet happened today, it would be looked at as two teenagers who thought they loved each other but didn't even know each other.

Romeo and Juliet's situation is similar to the Perfect Mate handout because their families don't know what their son/daughter or brother/sister want to find in their mate. The characteristics that you find are most likely always different than what your parents say. Another connection is that they have to do it on their own instead of having their parents help out. I do not agree with the idea of love at first site because no one can make decisions if they have only known someone for a couple of hours. They need to be able to meet and actually get to know the person before they know they want to marry someone.

The most essential thing is that they make you happy and that they love you for who you are. If you have to act like someone else for them to like you then they are not right for you. You need to be able to be yourself and be happy with them.

I think the main essentials is they have to be truthful, honest, nice, and friendly. This relates to Romeo and Juliet because they both had these characteristics towards each other. They were both truthful honest, nice, and friendly toward each other because they saw something in each other, but I do not believe in love at first sight. This is an impossible characteristic because if they think someone looks good, they may not be the nicest person you know. You would have to get to know that person in order to know if they are perfect for you. In conclusion, the perfect person, in my perspective, I would have to know personally and have these very important characteristics.

It is essential to share the difference between the thoughts you and your parents had for the perfect mate and for one another. I have no personal experience related to Romeo and Juliet's story. I think that everyone's family has different thoughts and ideas of what their children and spouse "perfect mate" should be.

I noticed once the handout was completed, I looked over what my moms expectations for a mate would be. Her and I had similar requirements and expectations. My mom and I agreed someone with trust and respect which takes a big role in relationships. Romeo an Juliet must have felt a special connection and must have felt that.

For my perfect mate I would need someone that's athletic, smart, has a nice family, is caring and just overall a great guy. Love at first sight is real. There are over 7 billion people on this planet and I believe there is a perfect mate for everyone. Even though certain characteristics do help with love at first sight they aren't as important as who the person really is on the inside. If you really love the person then you are willing to spend the rest of your life with them and you want to love everything about them. My mom and I picked mostly the same things so it's nice to know that if i were to have an arranged marriage I wouldn't be too upset. My experience of believing in true love at first sight relates to Romeo and Juliet because they really had love at first sight. They were the lucky ones that found there perfect match. Although I don't agree with everything we talked about in class I agree that the persons personality matters more than their looks.

I think that the most essential thing about a perfect mate is that they aren't out for money or just trying to use you. It's important that they love you for you. In Romeo an Juliet's situation, I have never been in love where I would kill myself. This makes me think about if love at first sight is actually real. Many people in our class would argue against it, and they would deny it was true. I'd agree. True love is just taking a shot at someone that looks good, without getting to know them. If after you've been with them for a while and they're still as amazing as they were as when you first saw them, then that's the one. Otherwise, it's just a hopeful guess.

I somewhat understand Romeo and Juliet, I've never loved someone enough to die for them, but I'm only 15 so thats understandable. But I have liked someone enough to want to spend every waking second with them or talking to them. Even though Romeo and Juliet didn't know each other a long time, they probably just had a connection.

I think falling in "love" at first sight and getting married within 24 hours is really foolish because you have to get to know someone well before you can even think about having feelings for them. Chances are they aren't paying attention to you and have no feelings for you and then you get sad when they date someone else. Or if you actually get together you'll probably break up after a few months. Most of the time you have to go through a lot of different people until you find the one that's right for you so Romeo and Juliet getting married in 24 and thinking they'll be together forever is really unrealistic.

In Romeo and Juliet they find each other and think it is love at first sight, but i think it should take time to find your perfect mate so you could be able to get to know the person, and be truly in love. Over time people change and if you only know someone for less than 24 hours then it may not be your perfect mate that you should spend your whole life with. When doing this handout I realized that my mom and I both had some of the same things on the sheet, making me realize that for me love at first sight could not be real.

I personally believe that 24 hours is hard to believe that you can truly say you love someone, no matter how strong the bond between them, 24 hours is not long enough to say that your truly in love with someone. Yeah you should fight for this so called love and I believe if you don't win than it was not meant to be. But that would mean that you had fought so hard and didn't give up right away, if you believe that your in love with someone than fight as hard as you can for that person.

A perfect mate is what everyone in this world is trying to find. They have to be just right and be just what each of them need. Romeo and Juliet found that but, I don't believe you can find that in less than twenty four hours so, I think that it is unlikely that they actually loved each other because they didn't know who the other really was.

From the "Perfect Mate" handout you can see that people might not always get what they want in a person. But when they fall in love with the person it dose not matter if it was the same image you had in your head. In Romeo and Juliet's situation I feel like they did not know who they were going to fall for so when they did it was perfect in there mind. Because in the end no one know who they are going to love and what they will look like.

From the perfect mate handout i saw that your probably not going to get what you want in a person. In Romeo and Juliet its a a chance in a million that those to found each other and were so perfect. This is because you don't know who you are to fall in love with even if there the person standing next to you.

Love at first sight might be a possibility but it is very unlikely because what if you don't like how they walk talk eat smell or talk to you later in life. There is so many other options that you can have but you have to take time. Love is patient :D
