The Commercial that I looked up was a very humorous version of Romeo version using flip phones and changing the play so it is all one act and on scene and summarizing the action.
The comercial was very interesting how it used the main parts of the play ad used it to show the play. It was so simple and that it was funny because the order and how they all beebed into peoples converstaions. It was very interresting in how the use of everthing was. Simpl bnut said the whole play very fast and simple.
I thought the commercial was hilarious! They use flip phone to communicate and it's all very fast paced. It's so fast, it ends up being funny. It deffinately gave me some ideas for my group's performance.
The Nextel commercial updates the classic Romeo and Juliet by using flip phones. It makes me wonder why Nextel or Sprint used a Romeo and Juliet theme for their phone commercial.
This commercial makes the old Romeo and Juliet play more modern with the use of phones. I think that there are many ways to sum up the play I'm a short amount of time. Instead of taking any quotes from the play, in this commercial most of the responses were one word. Although it was short it did describe the whole play fairly well.
The Nextel commercial was hilarious because it used modern props to make the commercial funny. It was also great how they combined all 5 acts and scenes into 30 seconds. It makes me think that we could probably use almost anything to make our play better even if it is modern props.
The commercial made the play move very quickly and made it funny. It had all the main points of the action but they were using phones for an advertisement.
The play is modernized with the use of cell phones and shows a different lingo than what you would read in the Romeo and Juliet novel. The characters all stayed the same though, Juliet and Romeo had the balcony scene, and Juliet awakens after Romeo's death. Paris also wants to marry Juliet but she responds with "never" signifying that she still loves Romeo. The commercial was very funny.
The commercial was pretty funny. It showed u don't have to include every line from the play to get to the point.
This version of Romeo and Juliet was very humorous and quick. It made me think about how fast you could sum up the story instead of dragging it on and on. Also, to re enact the play, you can add your own twist, or use flip phones, as they did. But they also stayed point with the story.
It brings technology into the play and it ps very comical. It also goes and summarizes the play into one short scene . It makes me think how easy it is to turn something huge into something small and easy to do.
Nextel satirically updates Romeo and Juliet by using very key words and only uses the main points of the play. It makes me contemplate that if someone can create a lengthy plan in just 30 seconds it seems as if the play was very (no offense) boring and didn't have much action in it. Granted all movies are like that today but Romeo and Juliet seemed like another love story.
It makes me consider how silly the idea of Romeo and Juliet is. I now think that it could have had more thought into the story and how things tied together.
The commercial makes it more modern and funny and summaries all that happened in the play in 30 seconds and even makes it a little bit better.
The commercial shows the story in a very quick, brief way, but they got the point across. They showed the audience the story in the simplest of ways by Romeo and Juliet telling each other they love her, Tybalt kills Mercutio, Romeo kills Tybalt, and they kill each other for their love of each other. This was an easy way to understand what the play was about in a short and simple way.
This commercial shows the story of Romeo and Juliet in a very fast and quick point. It kind of shows how quick there love is. I think they made this commercial so short because overall the play was short and not very long. The whole story seems to be in a rushed state. Then at the end it kind of shows that after all they are just kids and it is crazy.
The commercial was a very brief and humorous version of romeo and Juliet. The creators managed to sum up the story in a very fast manner but keeping the essence of it together.
I thought that it was so funny it was really fast and they did it all on one stage without any changes and used phones to talk to eachother
The commercial was funny, and it showed when the scene changed with the flip phones, it summarized the whole play in about 30 seconds.
The Nextel commercial satirically updated Romeo and Juliet by adding phones to it and summarizing most of the the acts very quickly. It make me consider if we should make our performance quicker and funnier like they did. Another thing I thought about during the clip was how to make my performance more modern.
As I watched the short commercial of Romeo and Juliet, I found that the satirical part of it was that the play could actually be summed up perfectly just in that amount of time. Shakespeare elongated the play with flourished and poetic wording, but really the play has only a few key events that could take place side by side in a matter of minutes. I loved that the commercial used the satirical phones because if Romeo and Juliet happened now Romeo and Juliet would never had died because of phones and such. The commercial was very humorous, but also blunt which gave it a short but sweet feeling.
This commercial explains the story of Romeo and Juliet very quickly because of the modern technology used. It was very fast and funny and it explained the story pretty well within the short amount of time. They also used modern language in he commercial which was easy to under stand.
The comercial was a good way of combining modern day and the "classic" romeo and juliet to create a new way of showing it.
The Nextel commercial sums up the book Romeo and Juliet in about thirty seconds using cells phones to connect Romeo and Juliet. It really showed how dramatic the whole play was in a very funny way because the majority of the main characters are murdered or kill themselves.
The commercial showed how Romeo and Juliet is a simple and easy story, and showed that through a short commercial, but correctly. They also put their product in it to advertise it, but used humor as well.
The Nextel commercial updates Romeo and Juliet because they where using phones which are modern and they were also talking in modern language. It was basically the same story just within 30 seconds and had all of the same main characters except for a few. It made me think that the book was longer than it should be because of how they talk.
The Nextel commercial satirically updates the classic Romeo and Juliet because they basically do the 20 second summary of the whole play using cell phones. It makes me wonder why Nextel used Romeo and Juliet for a commercial.
The Nextel Romeo and Juliet commercial is a update because they used flip phones and made a summary of the book in 30 minutes. The commercial just did the main points in the book showing that the book went back and forth from Romeo and Juliet.
The commercial was great and i thought it was very funny! I think it was very easy to make and i think that is why i loved it! It had very passionate actors and it was very funny. It added a twist that i loved and made me wish they did the whole book in depth.
