One of the many things I am questioning is how and when did we get all this technology. Also what could have caused this demise of our race that only left one house standing. I do like this piece because it makes you contemplate what happened and why no human is there and the technological advancements we made.
Why is it that in order for the human race to survive, we must destroy? We can see it happening today to natural resorses, habitats, and even other species, just so we can live in "luxury". This seems very petite to me, because not only can we not live without destruction the way we are, but we also don't seem to care or want to change. It's shocking to me how cruel other species would judge us as. Like the Martians, we come to their world and eventually kill them all off because of a sickness we didn't seem to even try to help them with. I hope for our own sake that advising the human race is gradual and different. Change is desperately needed so we don't kill off Earth.
A question that I currently have is are we getting to advanced with technology? In a way I kinda feel like humanity is progressing to fast. We will eventually reach a point where we are so advanced that can't progress anymore and then what? We will fall apart like the house. We are caught up in living in luxury and making our lives easier when we really should be working harder to make nature's job easier. I think that poem is kinda of a warning in a way when it says "and spring herself, when she woke a t dawn will barely know that we are gone."If we want to progress in the correct way then we need to focus on saving earth.
Humanity is obsessed with the concept of living in simplicity. The very purpose of technology is to simplify every predicament or challenge we cross. We are making these complex machines that can accomplish the impossible. In result, we are losing everyday skill and becoming more and more lazy, depending more and more on gadgets than ourselves. But, if we become too dependable on these machines that can have one malfunction and break down, we are basically building our own doom. I think the house is a very good example of what seemingly seems like an amazing machine, but in reality it's useless to what really matters and what's left of the world. We can't depend on technology for everything all the time. We need to learn how to stand on our own two feet as well.
I believe that humanities progress should be checked because we will get ahead of ourselves and we wont understand what we are working with. The Close Reading of this story challenges us to understand out technology before we progress to far.
I believe humanity is progressing to fast and we think some things are are right, when really they are a privilege. I feel like in today's day and age everybody wants things in on demand. We may need to see how far we've come in the pat 20 years to understand how lucky we are. I think that's what the close reading challenges us to do.
Humans seem to always need to be in power. Human progress means others destruction and it is so unneeded. We have all this great technology but we use it to kill and create a "homey" environment. But this also means the change of an others environment. If this book was real I believe that humans would not last long on mars because we know nothing about it and stormed in there too fast to even grasp what the planet is all about.

There Will Come Soft Rains shows how the world has evolved and how it will keep evolving. The story shows how everything just happens with technology, there is no human involvement, making their lives so much easier. The technology helps their lives so much that it makes their lives so easy to live. The very purpose of technology is to simplify every challenge we cross. We are making these complex machines that can accomplish the impossible, without us even trying. I like this piece because it makes you think about what has happened and why there are no humans, and the technological advancements we made.
I was fascinated on what he thought our world would be like back then and how a lot of the things we have accomplished. We don't know what is going to happen but he imagined it and it makes you want to think about what the world will be like in 10-15 years or even 1 year. Everything is moving by so fast and we are making so many advancements in technology.
One thing about human race is we always strive to survive no matter what happens to us. As technology develops even more there come more threats. As the comes more threats we create more ways to stop that. Its an ever ending circle of the human race trying to survive what ever comes at us. Even if the earth is about to be destroyed we will find some way to survive. As time goes on we also find ways to make life easier, and then we get lazy. New technologies create less work for us. when humans finally leave earth we will have left behind many technologies and everything we have created.
Humanity is obsessed with technology. We created Technology to make our every day lives easier. In the text they even have mice that clean for us. This tells us that Humanity is very lazy. What would we do without technology.
A Question i have about Human Technological Progress is What will our future look like (In like 50 years) will we have more natural disasters or will we find a way to prevent it? Will we be able to cure any and all Diseases That could possibly affect Mankind in the future.
Someday humans will automate every little task possible. Without having any troubles people won't have anything to focus on creating because there are no problems and humans won't advance in technology.
One of the things I ponder about from reading this is how would humanity function without technology, and could we every get to a point where we get rid of technology? Could we still advance at the rate we do know? Another thing is why does humanity progress at the rate it does. Why doesn't it progress slower, or faster? How do with change the rate of progress, and is progress of humanity defined by the progress of technology? Could it be defined by the progress of moral values; which one is better? I like this excerpt because it definitely allows the reader to question.
In this book humanity got to the point where we pretty much destroyed ourselves. we are trying to make everything electronic where the technology is kinda taking over. Humans need to live off of nature and that is the only way we can survive. Meanwhile nature can survive on their own but humans destroy the nature itself.
I think that in this story people were becoming too advanced and they could have ended up fat and lazy like the people in Wall-E because they relied on technology to do all their work for them. And also, how and when did all this technology that is described come to be?
There will come soft Rains, makes me think about humanity and progress. Humanity has gotten to the point where humans are no longer around. Whether they have died out or left, they still left behind a world they created to manage their lives. Progress had destroyed humans yet all the technologies and progressive advancements were invented to help humans and make things better and easier. In the end of the short story, it’s all that is left of humanity.
i think that Humanities progression with technology is if we do to much things then we will over whelm ourselves and do something that can never be changed again. The close reading challenges us to understand out technology before we progress to far.
How long before we come up with this technology? What happened that only on house survived? Why is it the only house? This piece was interesting to me because it made me think about how long it took us to advance and I believe that at one point the human race will destroy our selves. I also think that once humans are gone the ecosystem will go back on track and the world will its land back.
I am contemplating progress and the humanity progress that they are both progressing rapidly and that soon we will have a different world. The close reading challenges us to find out what technology is out there at this time and how that technology works, also before we progress to far out basically.
One of the things that makes me ask questions in this story is about the advancements in technology. I just find it weird because it seems like a bunch of people suddenly just showed up on mars. And when they were on mars they just made a bunch of houses and advancements. But then abandoned it and know a family gets the hole thing to themselves and just by taking a space ship.
From the short story "There Will Come Soft Rains" it talks about humanity and progress. Humanity changed everyone's life because all of the people is using technology everyday and it just keeps on changing every time. Progress made everyone change because we are just on our devices everyday. The close reading challenged me to not be on my technologies everyday.
This story shows that the need for humanity is decreasing. This house can live o its own for days maybe even months. It can cook and clean and speck. Man kind is moving forward with technology and making our lives easier but at what point do we go to far. What would life be like if all we had to do was be human? If we keep going at this rate there will no longer be a need for any for of manual labor. I think that we can make our lives easy and comfortable but at some point we need to stop and allow for some kind of wok needs to be done by man. As a man kind we need a reason to be something more then just human.
In this text it showed how humanity was destroyed by humanity, I know it sounds weird to say but im saying that we destroyed ourselfs. In my mind I kind of agree with the idea that technology is taking us over but then again you have to think of all the good we get out of technology, but then again there is a lot of bad that we get out of it. Its saying that us humans need to live with out technology and instead on nature but what it inst thinking about is that nature can live without us, in fact nature is better off without us because we kill nature, but an overall look at this is that I get what it is saying I just don't fully agree with it.
