I thought it was interesting how sir Ken talked about how school can be miss leading. Not to bad mouth school but he sad that all humans are creative and have something about themselves until they go to school. And how school molds us into good things but they are not letting us be creative enough and I also liked the part where he talked about how math is important but why cant some people learn same amount of math as dance to elaborate on the creativity and expand on what we are good at making us even better.
I think everything Sir Ken Robinson said in the video was correct, and I understood his point of view. School education systems are not set up to praise and strengthen talent; they are there to train students for jobs. Many students may feel slow or dim for not understanding subjects when really it has nothing to do with intelligence. Certain education and learning styles in schools might not be for every student and that needs to be taken in consderation as soon as possible.
I loved how in this video he went against what our entire nation is stands for, school. A thing we followed and improved for decades. Then for him to say that school is basically killing creativity, a necessity to life. A commodity that stops expanding as we grow old. Also how he admitted to following the system before his realization of our wrong doings. Again I respect him and his theory of the educational faults.
I sort of agree with Sir Ken because some people just can't work without singing or dancing or moving in some way. Unless you can express your creativity in the form of Math or Writing, School is not going to be very helpful your creativity. I believe that schools would be more productive if they let the children do what they are good at.
I think this video was really thought provoking and probably opened the minds of everyone who has seen it. He took everything about how students had been being taught and said it was wrong. He also exhibited what he said we should all do just by doing his presentation. He showed not being of being wrong by just going up on stage and he showed creativity to think outside the box to come up with this whole idea.
Ken Robinson makes an excellent point on how schools kill creativity. One thing he said stuck with me, "School is designed to make college professors". This I realize to be true. Sir Ken also spoke about how children become scared of being wrong, I am guilty of this, I know other people who are guilty, I also know adults who don't answer questions for fear of being wrong. Based of this I agree with Ken's proposal to dramatically change the way young people are educated. I wonder if there will ever be a change to the way people are taught in public schools.
I definatley agree with the man in the video, because i really do feel sometimes school can shut down our creativity. Why is math more important than dancing? it raises some big questions around the world and in the US. I feel schools would have a better system if they let the kids do what they wanted to do.
Sir Ken Robinson was correct in my mind because we really do focus on math and english and suppress the arts to a certain degree. If we were to change the schedule at most schools so that the arts had an even amount of time as the math and english I think that we would have a more diverse economy. What Sir Ken Robinson said was right on the spot and opened up a whole new perspective in schools.
Sir Ken makes a lot of very legitimate points in the video. He talks about how sometimes school diminishes our creativity. We are all innocent children at once who wasn't afraid to be wrong but once you go to school for a while you are afraid to be wrong. We are afraid to speak out an be creative. One of the things that would help is if we weren't afraid to be creative. I think that everyone should be taking one form of art class (even though we already do that here) because it helps liven the creativity and kindle it. I really liked the part where the girl whose mom thought was ADD just turned out to need dance in her life. Creativity doesn't have to be an art form but even just being confident in what you talk about. You can be creative in all of yours classes. Find new ways to do things, make interesting points in writing, question things in History. I think everyone thinks education is flawless but this made me and probably other people realize that it has its flaws.
I agree with everything Sir Ken purposed. He talked about how school crushes creativity and passion and this is completely true. School teaches us things that we might not want to learn or even need to learn. Most teens wont remember most of the papers they wrote or the homework they completed. Same with businesses. They don't look at the little things so why teach them? We should have kids learning what they are into and what they enjoy learning about. This goes for dance, science, sports, writing, drama, everything. Crushing a kids creativity is crushing their motivational drive to succeed in the evolving world. If we want the next generation of presidents, teachers, inventors, writers, athletes we need to let them choose who they want to be not society.
What he says is correct. I am amazed that he thought of this. He makes a very good point that our school system is killing the future artist and musicians. When I think about the why behind this one answer comes to mind, we can't. I don't think that we can change the school system as a whole now that we have been living like this for so many years. However, I don't think he need to take anything away or change anything in the school system, I think that we just need to change the way we look at it. If we believe that art or dance is just as important as math or science our children will think the same thing. Creativity is so important and we need to keep it alive, the best way of doing this would be to change our state of mind.
In this video Sir Ken robinson talks about how school drains creativity from children. He believes everyone is born an artist, but school can take away that ability. I personally agree wit Sir Ken Robinson, but not with everything he says. I believe all children are born with the ability to do something great. School can take that away, but no always. School can help children grow those abilities, but not with every child. Some children are born with abilities that school cannot help, and in some cases school ignores that ability. Schools need to find every kids ability and help them grow on it.
I Believe that schools should adopt a system that teaches more about creativity and trying to expand on students previous creativity levels. What would architects be able to build without imagination? or how about movie artists, Tv show creators, Apple Etc. So i believe that creativity is worth more then any amount of school years.
I agree with Sir Ken Robinson on how school is killing our creativity. Schools don’t strengthen that they point us to a curtain career and are not letting us use our creativity a lot. Unless they do, school won’t help our creativity. I believe that schools need to let us do what we are good at and let our creativity shine.
I think sir ken was right school is killing creativity and its not right. I thought it was funny what he said the little girl said to the art teacher. The story about the dancer is cool but it shows you how fast the school system judges you. I say this because when she was fidgeting with her hands and wanted to move the teach judged her and said she was different but shes not shes only different from what the school system excepts from the average person and thats why i agree with sir ken.
This video was intersting because of the that that Sir Ken was going against a topic most adults would. I agree with him school takes away creativity, not every student is amazing at math or writing. Some people need to get up and move on order to do what they need to do and focus. You can't really show what your talented at in school because school is made to "prepare you for the furture" and allows small place for creativity.
I think that a lot of what Ken say made a lot of sense now that I think about it. When we are in school we are taught to do specific things and we have do it. If we try to do it our own way then usually it gets a worse grade. We go to school and we are modeled into the "perfect student". But all of us are different and we need to live our lives based on who we are not who others want us to be.
I must agree to Sir Ken about school destroying creativity. When you start school you started and were graded on being creative. Now when you start to grow up they less grade on creativity and more on other things. Sir Ken can't be more right. Sir Ken says that schools need to care less about other things and focus more on being creative. The reason why we should be more creative is because when we don't know something or want to try to make or do something then we can figure new things out. But when schools are destroying all of our creativeness why would we want to try something new. Albert Einstein was very creative that is why he could do what he did.
Sir Ken Robinson’s video presentation was a different look at the path our schools are heading towards. He explained how academics are highly depended on education however, music, arts, and other subjects are being pushed further and further out of schooling. Everyone is different and each person carries characteristics and talents opposing to some other people. Schools now teach you that if you don’t get an A is science, you are stupid. Or if you fail history you are not good enough. If you don’t excel in algebra, you’ll be unsuccessful. Expectations are being created for students that for some, are unacheivable. Many extremely successful individuals were never good in academics but as soon as they found their talent outside of english and foreign languages, they realized that could be successful. They could do amazing things with their lives but growing up in our schools were told their best was never enough. Schools now and for the future need to be more accepting of human’s needs and stop putting so much pressure on the academics but rather to acknowledge the gift of creative imaginations.
Education has a great effect in the present and in the future. Growing up can bring the curse and gift of reality that can crush your imagination and dull your creativity and we spend a lot of our youth focused on education so it's safe to say that it can influence these things to happen. I agree that the arts should be of more importance in school systems and that kids should be able to share their thoughts at ease so they don't become afraid of failure in the future. Our nations will soon be in the hands of our generation and we need creative, refreshing, original people to take charge and keep our world running and in order to make that happen, we better rethink some of our educational methods.
My thoughts about Sir Ken Robinson's video is true because school is killing creativity. We have so much homework for school and we don't have time for creativity. Schools should give us less homework so that we can have space for creativity especially for students that is very creative. Creativity is what we need time for and all of the student needs it. So I agree with Sir Ken Robinson and what he said is all true. Also talented people needs creativity because if they don't have time for it then it's just a waste for them. So less homework for students and more creativity.
In this video I liked how Sir Ken went against what are nation said about school. He did not care about what people thought about what he was saying. He spoke his mind and I thought all of it was correct. He doesn't care that he is going up against the government and speaking his mind. I liked the part where he talked about how math is important but how some people can't learn the same amount of math as dance to elaborate on the creativity and expand on what we are good at making us even better.
I think that Sir Ken Robinson was correct because we really do focus on math and English and suppress the arts to a certain degree. I do agree with sir ken because it is true that in school we focus on just doing the work and getting good grades. But what he is saying is that we should be getting graded or atleast not be getting put down when we do it the way we want and not how they teach it. The teachers just want us to do it the way they want just so we can be modeled as a "perfect student" but in mine and Sir Ken's mind we should be getting taught more on using our creativity other then being a "perfect student".
Sir Ken made a really good point about how school can take away our creativity. I think the reason that kids don't like school is that we can't really do something we love all day. School helps us with learning for the real world, but is not letting us be creative.
