"NOAA RESEARCHERS EXPLAIN WHAT IT'S LIKE TO FLY INTO A HURRICANE"

"Over the last 2 years we have been testing a Coyote UAV in the hurricane environment"
I thought this was very interesting that they are testing an animal first. it is a good idea because they don't want to risk a humans life but why choose a coyote? "it can fly in the lower levels of the hurricanes and investigate areas that may be too dangerous for the WP-3D aircraft to fly in" the hurricane must be very dangerous because the machines they have are very strong and can last in harsh elements. I think it is amazing how they come up with all this stuff and know how to design something like that.

When reading about new technology, I connected it with the Martian Chronicles, because even though it was written in the 50's it is still very very plausible, especially compared to how fast we have developed new technology just in the past few years.

The book "The Martian Chronicles" and some of the articles I saw show how technology is advancing rapidly. It is advancing now which makes me think of the technology in the book. It must be very complex and advanced, which is how they are traveling to a new planet. Not only are they traveling but they are colonizing the planet with the new technology they have.

After reading some of the topics I think it is crazy how much our world has progressed, and where we will be even farther down the road. These are some good ideas because they are taking violence out of some situations as well as helping to reduce things that are causing problems today such as mosquitoes. I am interested to see in the Martian Chronicles how they pictured things to be today. As I said before this is crazy how far the world has progressed and even crazier to see where we will in the years to come.

I think the future is really exciting. If we can create robots that are just like living things, how will our society change with new creatures. I think it will be cool to see what robots will be able to do in the future. I wonder if any technology in the martian chronicles really came true. How will robots change our lives and will they ever become smarter than us? These are all question that we will have to wait to find out.

My thoughts regarding technology are that it has taken more time to reach some of the ideas that Bradbruy has stated in the book Martian Chronicles. Of course though we have not yet inhabited Mars or any great astronomical leaps in science but we have come as far as making robots.

After reading my article some of the situations the robots are used in are remarkable, but has it's flaws at times. Not always can it process situations lie we humans can. In the book with the two different perspectives they have there different views on the propose of the robots. And the understanding of our time period now and in the book are very different on what we can achieve and what has been achieved with technology now. They both have very different ways to be used.

I think that this is very interesting, I read about the mosquito killing robot. Technology still amazes me everyday. But robots that do simple tasks but more efficiently is still a crazy idea to me. The world is still advancing very rapidly and they are inventing things that will make our lives better. With the mosquito killing robot I wonder how it would be able to get to the mosquito though, unless somehow it could raise it's height. These things are still crazy to me though, that our world is advancing into having robots do simple tasks for us.

Technology is allowing us to live on Mars in the Martian Chronicles, but help us live our daily lives on Earth. Robots are helping us in security to stop intruders from stealing things, there helping us in armies to stop death, and they are living all around us.

These articles scare me and make me think that someday robots will have the ability to take over human kind. Yes that is to the extreme but the article I read was about a robot built in UC Berkley, has the ability to learn every day human tasks. If you think about that, it could potentially have the ability to take over the human race. In some ways technology improving is a good thing but there is a line that has to drawn so we don't create our own suicide.

Recent technology has given the world a chance to help humanity in ways they weren't able to before. In The Martian Chronicles, a rocket is able to change the climate of a certain area of Mars. With new technology, we can build robots that can repair blimps, test spacesuits, and even tie knots. Soon we may be able to have robots capable of preforming surgery, writing e-mails, and even helping around the house.

I think that scientists have a lot more better understanding to our world because now that almost everything has been identified and discovered, now scientists can play around with it. They create robots that do what we never thought they could do and thats pretty amazing. I think that Ray did understand that by 1999 from viewpoint of the fifties that things would get more advanced, however, there werent as many robots. I do think that it is amazing to see how much our world has changed in 70ish years.

Based on a few articles from Popular Science, human technology is far more advanced than most of us may assume. There were robots with lasers, robots for the police force and military, robots that could take people’s jobs, such as the robot librarian, tractor, and pizza delivery. People are discovering ways robots can learn from people as well. This just shows that the stories in The Martian Chronicles may be closer to reality than fiction.

After reading the article about how a robot replicates the movement of a salamander and it made think about how long it will be til we have robot animals all around us. This could be a replacement for some animals if they went extinct because today we have horses and dogs and other animals that we kept for our own enjoyment. But what if we started colonizing mars. We couldn't take dogs up with us, so they could take robot ones instead. Its weird to think about how in maybe a few decades we might have robot dogs if we wanted to and robot horses because everyone would want one just because of the low maintenance that it would take to take care of them.

I wonder how far technology actually is that is not being revealed to us and what hasn't been released to the public, and what they are actually working on. I reckon that I sound almost like a conspiracy theorist but there is most realistically an abundance of projects which we are unaware of, and are meant to stay unaware of. I do suppose that we should trust those who are in charge of making technological advances that we are so far unaware of, assuming that their wisdom on use of such technology is as wide as their knowledge of creating whatever they are in the innovative sciences that they practice, but there is often controversy in science either way and we have little knowledge on what goes on in the laboratories. I guess that the only true way to know the truth on the subject of questions of this nature is to become someone who is directly involved in processes to do with these technological advancements and see and govern the choices yourself, but the whole world cannot do this, but the whole world probably isn't paranoid about science-fiction like scenarios.

Based on the reading I did I am thinking a lot. I read an article called "watch a UPS drone deliver medicine to an island". I thought this article was interesting because I live on land so we have UPS cars, planes and boats to deliver what was sent or ordered to us. But people on small islands don't have the acsess to that sort of stuff. Maybe because they are too small for a plane to land or they are so far away it would be so expensive. UPS recently sent their first drone to an island to provide medicine to the people it was needed on that island. This connects to the "Martian Chronicles" because it is showing the way the future impacts today's life. This effects the universe today in the greatest way.It helps people who don't want to pay a fortune to just get something as simple as pain medicine for a headache.

Technology is at a turning point where instead of growing at a steady rate it's starting to grow exponentially, like there are robots that can actually have a conversation with you, build something, or that can do stuff for us. This one link that I clicked on was about robots that can weave carbon fiber structures that are "impossible" or that are very hard for humans to get to. These are spider like robots that can stick and move on a vertical surface.

After reading about recent technology development, I found that technology is growing more and more each day. Robots are getting more advanced and will soon be able to do anything humans want them to do. Robots will be able to replace humans in jobs, which might be good, but it can also be bad because there will be less jobs for people.

Technology is at a point that would've been unimaginable to somebody seventy, sixty, even twenty years ago. I noticed in the small piece of The Martian Chronicles we read, they were still using hammers and typical methods of building to create homes and such on the planet's surface. We are far beyond this, with a much larger understanding of the universe. But even still, we're in the same position as those before us. I'm sure when people discovered Mars they wondered plenty about it. But now that we know what might be out there, it's still incomprehensible what we could find.
