While watching the Imperialism video, I was able to make many connections to the book, "The Martian Chronicles". When the American Astronauts land on Mars, they wish for the martians to congratulate them, thinking they are better than the rest. These astronauts resemble Imperialism because they think that they have more power than the martians. Nationalism is also introduced in the book how the astronauts think so highly of themselves an want others to look up to them, while real case they have no relationship between them and the Martians at the time.

The video makes me think of The Martian Chronicles because of nationalism and how we want to take over land just like what the Earth man are doing. They also might have things that the earth man might want just like what was going on in the united states.

Imperialism is one civilization extending their power through to another civilization, this is shown in The Martain Chronicles because these "Earthmen", are coming onto Mars and are trying to force their ways onto the people on Mars and the same way around for the Mars onto the "Earthmen".This shows imperialism even if this was not done on purpose and if each civilization was not wanting this to happen. The laws and rules that are enforced on Mars were brought upon these men because they have joined their civilization, this is imperialism.

Imperialism is mainly shows in how Earth people are coming to Mars. I notice how the author is showing a lot of his thoughts of imperialism and problems and questions in the world. He shows predictions through this. One example includes how in chapter / Short Story Usher II, the house owner explains how may books and author’s works, mainly horror, were burned “heartlessly” and in “The Great Fire.” This is referencing how he thinks literature is being destroyed and also directly connects to Nazi’s burning “non - German literature” before WWII

The video relates to the "Martian Chronicles" because both America conquering places like Cuba, the Philippines, and Hawaii and winning wars again places like spain was a sign of US imperialism. In the "Martian Chronicles" the US people are trying to be an imperial threat as they move into Mars and are interacting with the Martians and they want all this attention.

In the Martian Chronicles, the US acts as if to make friends or maybe colonize Mars. This is very similar to the British wanting to colonize the west world. Also maybe the US wants to annex areas of Mars to make it part of Earth.

This video made me feel that in the martini chronicles they were imperialized by martinis and when you weren't tone of the then you were sent to Assian asylum. I noticed that when they explained imperiling that it sounded like the astronauts were trying to imperialize mars but they were stoped by the Martians. Bradbury dress imperialism through the astrtonots and through the martians.

We among other countries used to displace the native people when we expanded, such as the people seem to want to do with the martians. Bradbury addresses imperialism as making a country more powerful and larger, usually using the military. This is shown when the US believed that we should rule the seas to become powerful.

The Martian Chronicles relates to Imperialism because the humans colonized and met different people on Mars. It also shows the conflicts that the Earth men discovered while trying to expand their territory. It shows that the earth men wanted to control more land just like the US wanted to do.

the imperialism video makes connections to the martian chronicles by how we just wanted new land like on earth. he connects these things with the men wanting things and how people want things on earth

The video about imperialism reminds me of the "Martian Chronicles" because the astronauts that arrive on mars also have nationalism. They have pride in their planet (earth) and think they are superior. They only want gratitude and they don't care about the martians. Also, when the tax payer wants to go to mars no one listens to him even though he has good reasoning.

The imperialism video makes me think about the Martian Chronicles because I think of the expeditions and how the Martians treat each batch of men. I notice that the Americans in both the book and the video want to expand and the receiving countries/aliens are not happy about that.

The video covered topics that were related to the Martian Chronicles. The US was constantly expanding beyond its borders. An example of this is when America sent missions to explore Mars, along with sending people to conquer the Martians. In the expansion of America, the Europeans displaced the Native People. In the Martian Chronicles, Americans are looking for Martians and are planning to displace them. In the young stages of America, people established colonies. Similar to the Martians establishing their own colonies.

Imperialism is how a stronger nation or group takes over a weaker nation or group for specific reasons such as trade or money. There are many similarities because they go to conquer or take over other places. It is also similar to US imperialism because they thought they just deserve recognition.

The video about imperialism makes me relate to the martian chronicles because the United States wants to imperialize mars because they want to spread there culture and slowly move into mars because the earth is going to be bombed and going to be atom-bombed.

The imperialism video relates to, "The Martian Chronicles" by Bradbury, because America sends expedition groups to Mars. The groups want to make peace with the martians and colonise on Mars, but have the mindset that they are superior. This is shown by the second expedition group's actions and thoughts. They state that they were expecting a celebration and for the martians to praise that they came from Earth. Imperialism is when a county takes over/colonises another through force. Through imperialism both colonies can think that they are superior to one another. Imperialism is occurring in "The Martian Chronicles" because the people from Earth want to colonise on Mars and both the martians and people from Earth think they are superior. Additionally, the martians retaliate and fight back to protect themselves from the people from Earth, and the people from Earth bring weapons to fight if they need to. This shows that Earth is trying to imperialise Mars because they are taking over by force, but the martians are fighting back.

The imperialism video connects to "The MArtain Chronicles" by Bradbury because in the book Earth is trying to colonise mars and take over the planet and its people the martains. It is just like in the video because America takes over other isands and countries and colonises them. They have pride in their nation because they think they are superior to the rest of the world. Same thing in the book, the Earth is trying to colonise mars and get more space, more land, more resorces.

The connections between the imperialism video and scenes referenced in the Martian Chronicles are quite high even though we are still very early on in the book. I can make connections with the two references to imperialism because they both a tribute to the same kind of American imperialism. The Americans bring their ideas and thought to Mars like they did with other countries or nations on Earth. Bradbury does however address the subject in a very subtle way. He brings it to you so that it's more of an implication rather than a statement and I personally like this way because it fits with history more as in Crash Course it was stated that imperialism was not the most popular term back then and now.

The imperialism video relates to "The Martian Chronicles" because imperialism is the concept that stronger or bigger countries take over weaker or smaller countries. The video had topics relating to "The Martian CHronicles," like the US growing and overgoing its boundaries. There are similar problems and conflicts.

It makes me think of how the Spanish came over and took over the US. Now that we have ruined the place we took over we have to go somewhere else and in this case, it is Mars. The Martians also hate us just like our problems with the Native Americans and other native groups.
