It reminds me of my Science Fiction class, where in one of the stories, written in 1911, the story talks about many things that were futuristic at the time exist and are normal now. Looking at the articles from recent months on Popular Science, technology is advancing faster than ever before. Some of the technology mentioned in Martian Chronicles is becoming more and more possible, such as large rocket ships for space travel.

After reading a few of the articles from the website Popular Science I had a variation of thoughts abut technology from the past and technology from the future. In the Martian Chronicles, a space ship was introduced and may be used for some travel. After seeing the technology on popular science it shows that technology is advancing greatly and rapidly.

Looking at what I read in the book and the articles I saw on the website, I think the technology described in "The Martian Chronicles" will be overexaggerated or simply inaccurate. People around this time thought that our technology would improve and build incredibly fast. A lot of people also that flying cars were something of the distant future, but to this day, they still don't exist. To many people, going to other planets like Mars wouldn't be too difficult but as we can still see, we're working on it.

The technology in the Martian Chronicles makes me wonder what kind of technological advancements we will have in the future. Thinking that we will have technology and gadgets like this in the future seems really unrealistic but people on older times probably thought what we have now was impossible to make back in the day. The book opens up your imagination and makes you think about what's possible. I hope that we will have stuff like this in the future but some of the "inventions" make me wonder if humans are just getting lazier.

After looking through "popular science" I was very intrigued in the amount of robots and the variety of things they can do. I was surprised that in "The Martian Chronicles" the characters were on mars in 2002 and in the present day in life we are still not on mars. It is still quite surprising that we are still preparing for mars which proves that we will eventually be on mars which seems absurd.

The Martian Chronicles showed what it was like with people fleeing to Mars as a backup because humans needed to go to Mars. We are currently updating and fixing the problems in our world and not solving problems, but just inventing things. It's weird to see where someone thought we would be compared to where we actually are. I thought we have come a long way, but the passages make me think about where we will be in just a few years.

When I was reading both of the passages I was thinking a lot about how that would effect us a humans. I read the article about smart foam and how it could robots know if they are broken and I think it is crazy how at some point we wont even need to fix the machines they will be able to do it themselves. If they could repair themselves than that would change a lot of stuff like I.T. jobs and all of the jobs that have to do with fixing machines would be gone but so many new jobs would be opened up we are advancing as a world so much and one day we will have rockets that can go to other planets and go in to space like bees. IT would be crazy to be so advanced that space travel is like an airplane ride.

I think that technology is really impacting the way we live today and how we are going to live in the future. Big companies like apple keep improving the Iphone and adding more advanced technologies to make it the greatest Iphone. In the article it even showed how a robot can do gymnastics. Robots that will clean up after you if you drop some crumbs simple things like this are going to impact the way we live. Will we become messier because we know our robot will clean it up? In conclusion, technology is changing the way we live and will have an impact on the future.

After reading this excerpt from this book, I was reminded of the book Scythe. In both of these readings, the author writes about possible events of the future. In the book this reminded me of, overpopulation is handled using new technologies and skills that pertain to certain people. Similarly in this short portion of this book, the written considers how technologies can result in differing scenarios. These technologies allowed people to leave Earth and form life on Mars, a location where we are currently not aware of the life existent. This excerpt made me consider that we don’t always know the possibilities our technologies can allow, especially in the near future.

Based on the readings about technological advancements, I think that technology is such a powerful thing that will always improve. It seems that our technology is constantly advancing and astounding us all. Technology that humans never could have imagined thirty years ago or so has come to be and it is so amazing to be able to witness it. The Martian Chronicles makes me think a lot about where the human race is headed when it comes to technology and space. Our present day understanding of our world and the universe will likely evolve tremondosly as we go father into the furture.

The Martian chronicles along with many other sources expected current technology to be way beyond what it truly is. These interpretations, dismissing the current state of technology, have led to the development of older stories and movies that we all love. The dramatic change of setting and ideas that the story has between pages 1 and 103 is very drastic. Over the course of only 3 years people on Earth went from realizing they had a problem on Earth, to completely colonizing mars. This idea also demonstrates the human ability to adapt to problems quickly. In the end, the contrast between our past goals and the outcome today is large and could have never been predicted.

Upon reading pages of The Martian Chronicles, I understood planet Earth’s current technological advances as well as what could be created within the near future. Currently, our technological understanding is we can create almost anything we can imagine. Most countries around the world compete against each other technology-wise to become the most technologically advanced country. After technology became exceedingy prominent througout the world, we became more connected than ever. Our world has begun an evolution changing expirence that will only become greater. As a world, we seem to wish to advance more than we already have, which may be detriemenal to our societys health.

Between the reading and the link in the question, my understanding and thinking of the world has changed very little. This is because I try to keep myself up to date with how the world is changing and evolving. I also have read a number of Ray Bradbury’s short stories about dystopian worlds so his writing about Mars did not surprise me at all because I am custom to his style

I think that we should focus on technology that is more important. I feel like making robots that can do gymnastics is far less important than if we were to focus on something like landing on mars. That is a much better goal to achieve than making a computer do a flip. I also think that they don't really have a lot of "high tech" stuff in the Martian Chronicles which is pretty surprising because you usually think of that type of stuff in mars.

The readings in the Martain Chronicles made me realize how technology has impacted our lives and how if we don't fix the problems we have in our lives today we might end up living on Mars. Big technology companies like apple keep improving their iPhones and computers so the image of robots becoming a regular thing keeps getting closer to your daily lives. With the advancements of new technologies, the ability to live on mars looms closer than ever. This leaves us to wonder why would humans have to live on Mars?

I think it's very interesting and exciting how we can do all of these amazing things with technology like we are about to bring humans to mars, that's incredible. It's weird to think that 100 years ago everyone would not even think about being where we are technology wise. I think there is a lot more we have to discover about our world but especially the universe, we really have no clue what could be out there. I think we will have a lot more amazing technologie coming in the future. But I'm still very amazed with where we are now.

I think it's both very interesting and possibly concerning how much we rely on technology everyday. It's incredible to think about all the things we can do with technology and the new robots that are being created, but at the same time could lead to many different issues. For example, right now there are robots being created that can do things we've never even thought of. This may later be a problem when we start to focus too much on advancing our technology instead of the things that truly matter.

A lot of the technology projected by Martian Chronicles is becoming a reality now with modern science and discoveries. We are relying more and more upon computers and AI to perform tasks, which is both very exciting and scary. A lot of dystopian texts are based upon the idea that robots have taken over, which is kind of what is happening now, whether we like it or not.
