The Imperialism video made me process multiple connections between The Martian Chronicles and imperialism. In The Martian Chronicles, the astronauts from Earth migrate to Mars. The astronauts brought their culture, language, and technology. Through imperialism, a larger nation spreads its cultures and/or territory over a smaller nation. When this would happen, the smaller nations would often feel upset and want to keep their cultures and territories. The Martians also seemed to feel this way, and along with imperialism came destruction. America is very technology-based, and so when the astronauts landed on Mars and colonized, there was destruction as common things on Earth were put in place on Mars.

This imperialism video made me question some things about The Martian Chronicles. In the Martian Chronicles, the astronauts come down from Mars and immigrate to Earth. Imperialism is the act of a country expanding and possibly even overtaking another country. The Martians related to this topic because they colonized on Mars.

The Imperialism video has made me think about how we don't need Earth being a menace to other planets like America being a menace to territories just for gain. It used a lot of violence and America blamed other people for things. That might happen with Earthlings moving onto Mars. We didn't care about how it would affect the people we were taking over, The US just wanted to own these areas. This could really hurt the Martians in the Martian Chronicles and they would be upset with us and could cause a war.

In the imperialism video there were connections about how america took over many countries to make us more powerful but in The Martian chronicles were moving to different planets because it seems like they were researching and found out they could live on other planets. Also the astronauts brought their beliefs language religion which is the same thing america did when they went to other countries.

A connection I made between The Martian Chronicles and imperialism is that Americans are the head of these conquests. In the Spanish-American War, the Americans wanted to claim places like Cuba and Hawaii, while the Americans in The Martian Chronicles wanted to discover Mars. I wonder if things on Mars will become violent because of the imperialism happening. What will happen to the astronauts?

The imperialism video made me think of Martian Chronicles in many different ways. The book sometimes talks about war and the imperialism video it is mostly about war too. The imperialism video is mostly about what happened in the war and how the war turned out and in the book it is a little different. The video had a lot to do with the Puerto Rico war which had a big impact on the U.S.. Smaller nations that maybe don't have a government like we do could be related to the book and the Imperialism video evenly.

The imperialism video makes me think about the martian chronicles a lot because as people we always are trying to expand and get more but in martian chronicles we went to far and tried to invade aliens without knowing anything. because of the fact that we didn't know anything got the astronauts in trouble and put in an insane asylum. I also noticed that in the video he was talking about how not everyone accepted the americans like in the story everyone wanted them to just leave but they did what all humans would do and kept trying to find answers by doing everything that the martians said and that ended up get them in to an unwanted situation.

The video had many connections to the Martian Chronicles. The main idea of imperialism was the main idea of the video. The chronicles describes the Americans on mars as not necessarily wanting to conquer mars but to learn about it. They were trying to spread their ideas, but their customs were not accepted, which was the reason they were thrown into the insane asylum. Ultimately imperialism in the book isn't the common imperialism we would expect because of our learning of history on Earth.

After watching the imperialism video and reading some of The Martian Chronicles, I'm not entirely sure that imperialism really connects with the story. In history class I have learned that imperialism means taking over foreign nations and bringing our government, military, and ideas into whatever we are taking over. In The Martian Chronicles the humans from earth aren't really doing anything to take over Mars, or messing with any of the Martians; mainly because the Martians wouldn't let them, or tricked them to not mess with them. Imperialism shows up a lot in our earth's history buy taking over other countries and making them colonies for our countries. There is no taking over or over throwing in the story, so I'm not sure how exactly they show up if that doesn't happen.

Within The Martian Chronicles, people from Earth come to Mars and begin to act important without having a lot to say. This demonstrates a peerless mindset as these people attempt to demonstrate their splendid accomplishments (their arrival on Mars) that these new technologies allowed for. These astronauts came to Mars and brought with them their own knowledge and ways of communication, similar to how immigrants bring their culture with them to their new homes. For example, the astronauts thought that this information about Earth and the accomplishment of these people arriving on Mars was common knowledge. This led to problems, as the astronauts are deemed psychotic. By placing these people in this location on Mars, their poor treatment is similar to actions that could be taken on people when imperialism occurs.

Imperialism is shown in the martian chronicles because the Martians are bringing their culture and lifestyle to mars. In the video, there was a lot of fighting and war. In the book, I wonder if different martians will bring different lifestyles and there will be war on what is better.

The Imperialism video definitely has a few connections to the Martian Chronicles. When you think about the definition of Imperialism (the domination of a stronger nation over a weaker one) we can start to see how this might be present throughout the story. For example, the astronauts may be wanting to take over Mars in order to expand Earth. This may be one of the main reasons why they decided to fly to Mars.

After watching the imperialism video, I could connect multiple examples of how The Martian Chronicles text connected to imperialism. In The Martian Chronicles text, Earth citizens decided to send astronauts to expand their culture and knowledge to Mars, which is the next closest planet. Imperialism one country’s domination of another through social, political, or economic control, and that is what Earth citizens tried to do. Earthians believed they would become a powerful race in the Milky Way Galaxy if they imperialized another planet.

imperialism is a strange thing compared the martian chronicles, in on way it's the treatment of others, in another it doesn't make any sense the earth people have not done any harm to the martian settlers, it was more the invading power that harmed the civilization, other than that it is extremely similar

A connection I made between the video and martian Chronicles was that imperialism means to take over another country or expanding, and in the book we were trying to invade/take over the martians.

The imperialism Video helped me connect to Martian Chronicles and how Bradbury portrays imperialism throughout his stories. When the astronauts arrived on Mars they seemed to expect a more Earth-like planet. Thinking that the Martians have the same cultures, technologies, and languages. Although they spoke the same language their culture was clearly different and the astronauts seemed to expect to imperialize Mars, for they were expecting a key to the city.

Bradbury implies Imperialism a lot through his text, the Martian Chronicles. The Earthmen are trying to spread their ideas to Mars, which is the definition of imperialism. As well as this, the Earthmen are portrayed as feeling superior and more intelligent than the native Martians. I think this connects to when we colonized the Native Americans, Hawaii, re-opened Japan for our benefit, and also the ideas of Anglo-Saxonism. There have been many instances when the white man has feelings of superiority and it doesn't end well.
