A difference between the text and the film is that in the film, a probe is landed on Mars that fails to see the Martian city over the horizon. A similarity I noticed between the two mediums is that both of the manned space missions were launched by The United States.

After reading the Martian Chronicles there were both some similarities and differences with the film. Both included the character, Nathaniel York. But the film goes into detail about an unmanned spacecraft landing on Mars. Both the text and film also stated the day when the spacecraft touched down on Mars.

The video is both similar and different to the Martian Chronicles. In the video there is a drone without anyone inside while in the Martian Chronicles there are many missions where men from Earth go to explore and discover different places on Mars. One of the only things that are similar is them both being set on Mars. Another difference that occurs is that the video talks about how there is no life on mars, but we know that there is in the Martian Chronicles.

The film shows an unmanned rover land a few miles of the town. This never really happened in the book and the movie seems to try and make their own approach on the story rather than following the original. I also think that there are more things happening on earth that were never mentioned in the book. Captain York is one of the few things that are similar to the book, he is the person Mrs. Kkk dreamed about. IN all I think the movie was more dramatic and excessive than the book and would have been better off following the original story.

In The Martian Chronicles Film Excerpt, there was some text alignment. In the excerpt though, an unmanned spacecraft lands and observes Mars, which did not take place in the book. There was also a scene in the excerpt that takes place on Earth about the leader/founders of the mission and the astronauts which was not in the book. In both the excerpt and the book, there was a scene about the rocket taking off to land on Mars with astronauts. There were also similarities in the scene about the home of the Martians, such as mist and crystals.

In the first few minutes of the Martian Chronicles already don't line up with the text. The book begins with a story about an unmanned space probe landing on Mars and not finding any life. The book, however, begins with a story about "Rocket Summer" and Yll and Ylla. There was no explanation in the film about the rocket summer or life on Earth before the astronauts arrived. Also, in the film it has a very clear depiction of the team behind the expedition, which was never talked about in the book. To conclude, the Martian Chronicles movie is nothing like the book.

In the film, I noticed that there was an unmanned space ship that traveled to Mars. This is a part not told in the original story. I also noticed that in the book they talk about how the world is in shambles and that is why everyone wants to go to space, but when the colonel is talking to the reports and it seems like the world is not in shambles. This scene is also not a part of the book. The movie did have the odd elements of the Martians as described in the book, such as the mist and lava.

The video is different in the fact that there is a rover sent to mars instead of a manned mission. This probably put sending a manned mission to mars to a lower priority because they did not know life existed on mars. This delayed the process and gave humanity less hope in finding another habitable planet to live on since a nuclear war occured on Earth. The lead up to the launch is much more detailed in the movie which explains more about human life at the time when the book took place. The martians seem very similar to Earth people in physical appearance.Their lifestyle is much more based off of the land though than technology.

Although the cartoon is not great film wise, the small part of which we viewed in class was not completely terrible. They followed the basic storyline beginning, but focused mostly on what was happening on earth rather then the Martians in which the book was written about. They did not explore any of the perspective that was written and never once used and quotes from the beginning of the text. Even though there are still some of the same characters, the beginning does not follow the book and it takes a long time - nearly 15 minutes - to even meet the martins in which the book is completely based around. When the martians are introduced on a very fake looking Mars, part of the book starts to come into play, but very very slowly and not accurate to the book.

In The Martian Chronicles Film Excerpt, the beginning starts off of how there is the rover on Mars unmanned and that they can't see a city in the distance but they pan out so we can see the town the Martians live in. So it does start out pretty different from how the book does, maybe just to give a little bit of background on actually is happening in the book. The excerpt also spends a lot of time on how the grounds system is working and what they believe is going to happen when they go to Mars. Which during the beginning of the book it just goes to the astronauts landing on Mars. They also keep captain york alive and he doesn't go on the first expedition. In the Martians house they do have a lot of unnatural things like they do in the book. Put the excerpt as a whole isn't the best quality so it doesn't show everything as well as the book explains it.

In the start of the movie it wish shown that an aircraft with no people on it landed on Mars. In the book, it started off with the introduction of Martians instead. Also the Martians in the movie are different from how they are described in the book.

In the movie, the un manned space craft can see a city. In the book, this was not mentioned or described. The movie was showing the scientists preparing for the manned expedition with we read about in the book. That part of the book was rocket summer. We can see the rocket taking off and the hot fire it produced and we read about this in the book when they were describing the heat. In the movie, we see the captain and scientists talking to the journalists.

In the book, there was no unmanned spacecraft but in the beginning of the episode, it was the first thing they talked about. So far the show seems to have more detail than the book does. There is more of a story in the show.

the book did not tell us of a rover on mars. The book never told us about the docking.

Although the film related to the book the Martian Chronicles many of the text references were different from the book's actual wording. Many other things such as the Martians themselves, dates, and stories were quite different. The first expedition during the Martian Chronicles was a manned ship and in the movie, it is not. Also, Captin York is not on the First Expedition as he was in the book Moreover the Martian's homes look very similar to as described in the book and so do the Martians themselves. It is true that the movie was not very accurate to the book, but it got the message across about life on Mars.

In the film there was relations because they were talking about the planet mars. Although there was an unmanned space craft and in the martian chronicles there was a manned spaceship. A similarity between the two was that there really was life on mars.

In the book, the text describes the world as kind of trashed, but in the movie it seemed to be a lot more habitable then the book describes it. The movie also has a lot more detail.

In the movie they showed that there was a unmanned pace craft that landed on mars and was just short of landing in the martian city. In the book they never talked about a un0manned space craft. This shows the movie will change some of the plot that the book had, and add parts to the story to make it more interesting. They do have some similarities they did talk about captain York which was in the book, he was the one who the martian woman dreamed of and was shot sometime after. THey also have the same area that the martians lived in, the movie shows "Crystal buildings"

This is a strange way to imagine the Martian Chronicles, extremely different from what happened in the movie, now it's starting to be similar, Meeting the Martians now, this is sort of strange to me

Martian Chronicles the movie and the book showed two different things. In the book, we are given a picture of some "magical" dreamland. In the movie, there is more of a sad and down feel to it. The main differences to me are the setting and feel of the story.
