After examining each vase art, I noticed how Odysseus was frequently pictured on the left. Athena was positioned violently striking. Each artist made sure to show each god/human's power. Athena was always positioned as powerful and god-like.
We noticed that Athena's helmet went above the art of the vase, which I think symbolizes her status as a diety, that she is above mere mortals.
In the first black and red vase, Odyseuss is shown as being hunched over slightly and almost bowing down to Athena. This shows her power and how wise and strong she is. Her head of armor is definitely something that she's known for, as well as her long spear. Odysseus is also always shown on the left, showing his willingness to learn from the gods without taking any of their power away.
Athena and odysseus, tells us about Athena and her views of heroism and how odysseus captured he view of heroism
These images have a lot of emphasis on the clothing and headwear worn in the art. There are a lot of symbols such as the bag and the helmet going past the lines. Among the images, there are people with their hands out in front of them, which also can be representative. The water and the tall walls in one of the images could also relate to the challenges that Odysseus faced on his journey.
The images closely relate to the odyssey because of their deeper meaning. In the first image Penelope represents Athena who is stunned that her husband returned. The journey that entailed an incredible amount of danger was a main reason that she never expected his arrival after waiting 20 years. This closely relates to the image in which Penelope is shocked that her husband returned, probably after a journey.
The first image shows Odysseus and Athena. Athena is wearing a head armor and it shows Odysseus hunched over bowing down to Athena. This head armor and Odysseus bowing down shows that Athena is a higher power and is very important.
In the vase, it is Athena because there are snakes on her shoulders and the man is holding a stick as representing the olive wood. Many of the art pieces and displaying the power Odysseus had. They show how he was almost god-like. Although, without the help of the gods he would be as great.
The messages in the art is showing a man with a spear and a woman and I think it is presenting Odysseus helping her in some way. I think in the art it is showing the power Odysseus had and he is presenting that as a string man. They are all putting their arms up in the information or all facing the middle to show that something is important. Some pictures it looks like they have a basket and maybe they are bringing a basket baring gifts for Odysseus in them.
When I looked at the black and red figure vase art I notice that Athena is usually taller than Odysseus. I think that was in purpose because it shows that she has more power over him because she is a god. Most of the people on the vases tend to look the same though so it's a little bit confusing on which person is who. Athena was giving Odysseus a bag full of I'm not entirely sure, but this shows like her giving him some help to get through his journey.
You can see the head of armor on Athena and you can see the things that separate them from the humans. They showed the bag of winds that the soldiers open that pushed the boat away from their home. The vases look like they were used as cups sometimes or to hold different types of liquid or even oil. They would have great detail on the vases, they always had them doing an action like bowing.
Lots of the artwork on the vases show Odysseus being assisted by people and deities on his journey. To me, this shows how that no matter how strong, determined, or brave you are, you probably can't do everything alone.

Personally for me some of the pictures were a little lit hard to decode, decipher or even tell what was happening in a couple of the photos. In the ones that I could see though, it looked like Oddeyseuos's men at war and fighting. Most of them had multiple people on them vase and in some of them it kinda looked like two little armys facing each other and ready to fight

My thoughts on the vase where Odysseus is holding the wine and his wife stands behind him with a crown. It really highlights the importance of women in the story and how she was there with Odysseus without her actually being there in the story.
the vase in this image was definitely fir someone very important you could tell because of how detailed it was, they would probably use it at their popular dinner.
After looking at each vase, I noticed that each vase had a different yet intriguing explanation. I noticed that Athena's crown was always at the top of the pictures symbolizing that she has no limits, while Odysseus was almost always painted on the left. The artists made sure to show how god-like each god was.
All of these pieces of art represent something from the Odyssey. A lot of them seem to be of Athena and her many talents such as cleverness and the idea of her being limited. This also represents the different heros of the story.
The artist is clear for their time period of what happened in the Odyssey. The artist is obvious when it comes to Athena because they convey her helmet as huge and very godly. The art looks similar to ancient egyptain art and reminds me a lot of the old times
These pieces of art show how Athena is wearing a giant godly helmet that is most likely very heavy. Her helmet was always on top representing that she has no limits and that she is very godly.
