The song kingdom in the sky has a lyric that goes "there'll be no more cares or sorrows on that heavenly teacup ride" which uses tone to help you think that the ride is great and super fun as the words are good like Hevanly and its got a fun rhythm in the background.
"We're swimming through our dreams" pluto projector by Rex Orange County shows a figure of speech in the way that we cant actually swim through dreams but its a figure of speech to maybe mean that we are doing something we thought we could only in our dreams.
I dont listen to much music but some of my faviortite quotes are about how everything will be ok and just to keep going.
"Our Song" by Taylor Swift goes like, "Our song is the slamming screen door, Sneakin' out late, tapping on your window." This part of the song has a metaphor because it is comparing the song to a slamming screen door.
"one eye is taken for an eye" Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater. This is a figure of speech, I know it also is a saying but I like it because it talks about society's needs for payback.
Driver's License by Olivia Rodrigo
"Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street"
The lyric is contrasting about the beginning and the end. It shows how the events have taken a turn and gives off a sad mood.
Through Da Storm by Polo G. This song talks about perseverance and not giving up. And to keep on going no matter what people say.
One line that exhibits one of our poetry terms is from the song, Wishing Well, by Juice Wrld. He says, "Stress on my shoulder like an anvil..." This line uses a simile by comparing the amount of stress that he has to the weight and difficulty of carrying an anvil by using "like" to compare the two.

"Birds fall from the window ledge above mine
Then they flap their wings at the last second
You see, birds fall from the window ledge above mine
Then they flap their wings at the last second
I can see their dead weight
Just dropping like stones
Or small loaves of bread
Past my window all the time" -Mr.Mastodon Farm, Cake
In this song there are metaphors, that people try to read too much into everything in life, there's connotation in referring to the birds being like stones or small loaves of bread.
"Look at the sky tonight, all of those stars have a reason, a reason to shine, a reason like mine, and I’m falling to pieces, look at the sky tonight, all of those stars have a reason." - Star Shopping. This line connects to poetry because the author is relating life to the stars, in a sort of metaphoric way. He could be saying that the stars have a reason, and so do people. The authors words, I’m falling to pieces, could be speaking to the fact that despite being broken he (and everyone else) still has a reason to “shine” or stay alive.
"Hey, baby, waste your time with me In California" La La Land, by Bryce Vine. This line is a form of imagery. It doesn't have very much description, but it still gives of a good image in your head.
In the song Broken Clocks by SZA, she says, "I ain't got no time
Just burning daylight". This is figure of speech because she is not literally burning daylight, only wasting her time on something she shouldn't be. -Raney S
The song Upside down by Jack Johnson has a lyric that says, " And as the surface breaks reflections fade, but in some ways they remain the same." This line is full of imagery. When you read it you can imagine what is happening.
In the song, Wishing Well by Juice WRLD, he says "I can't breath, waiting for the exhale." This sentence is a figure of speech because he isn't saying that he literally can't breath, he's saying that his is going through hard times and is waiting for it to get better.
The song Better Than Revenge by Tayloe Swift lyrics say "Stealing other people's toys on the playground" this could be a form of a figure of speech because she isn't taking other peoples toys on the playground, but it is saying that if she takes things from people she won't have any friends.
In the song Rejoice by AJJ the lyrics say, "Rejoice, rejoice God's ears are stitches", a metaphor implying that in the end our pleas fall upon deaf ears, and we should be judged and judge others by their character rather than their beliefs.
-Hayden Knowles
" Keep your nose on the grindstone" by Tylers Childers This is about how you should focus on your work and try to do your best no matter what the situation is.
Ella C
Drivers license by Olivia Rodrigo "I guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me'Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street" This song is related to poetry because it shows deep emotion in just a few words and it portrays a hard life experience that this person went through and packs a lot into just one sentence kind of like poetry.
One of my favorite songs, Tightrope by Michelle Williams in the Greatest Showman movie soundtrack has a particular line that I like "We're walking a tightrope, High in the sky, We can see the whole world down below." And this snippet of the song connects to one main poetic device: a metaphor. This is because the characters mentioned are not actually walking on a tightrope so high in the sky, you can see the whole world below, but they are taking risks that allow them to experience many new, sometimes dangerous, unordinary, things.
To Build A Home by The cinematic orchestra “And now, it’s time to leave and turn to dust”. To me that symbolizes saying goodbye and moving on. It’s a very powerful message in the end. It’s also represents leaving and not staying with something you don’t like. Throughout the song it shows all of those powerful themes

I don't listen to much music, but my favorite quote would probably be "winners are not people who never fail, but people who never quit". This is an example of a paradox because the first clause appears to be false (winners are not people who never fail). The second clause clarifies that winning is about perseverance, instead of perfection.
In one of 21 Savage's songs, he says:
I'd rather have loyalty than love
'Cause love really don't mean jack
See love is just a feeling
You can love somebody and still stab them in the back
It don't take much to love
You can love somebody just by being attached
See loyalty is a action
You can love or hate me and still have my back
I like this lyric because it has deep meaning, this almost sounds like a poem itself.
The thunder rolls
And the lightnin' strikes
Another love grows cold
On a sleepless night
As the storm blows on, out of control
Deep in her heart
The thunder rolls
I chose lyrics from the thunder rolls by Garth Brooks because it shows what is happening in the person's heart, because they know that something bad happened
Dillon Mahoney
I like the lyric
I'd rather have loyalty than love
'Cause love really don't mean jack
See love is just a feeling
You can love somebody and still stab them in the back
It don't take much to love
You can love somebody just by being attached
See loyalty is a action
You can love or hate me and still have my back
This lyric sounds like a poem in itself, it has really good passion and meaning.
I like the lyric "Too late, You wanna make it right, but now it's too late" by childish Gambino. To me this quote means that at a certain point you cant make things right. And in order to be forgiven you have to be vulnerable and own up to your mistakes.
