I totally agree with thi man because you are born with tons of creativity and you don't grow into it, you grow out of it. They made kids learn that mistakes are the worst things that kids can make. They should let the kids choose their form of creativity and to not force them into one.
I agree with the statement that school kills creativity because it's true that when we are small children, we don't really care about being right or wrong. As we grew older, school has made us fear being wrong and it has made us lose most of our creativity. I wonder if schools never made us lose most of our creativity if we would become more successful in life.
After listening to this ted talk, I think that schools don't pay enough attention to kids creativity and we grow out of it, not into it. I think its important that kids take chances and aren't afraid to be wrong. The education system is simply based on intelligence levels and academic ability. It spoke to me when the speaker asked why we don't take daily dance classes as we do math classes? Education vs creativity is a topic that has many aspects of it, and I learned a lot from this.
I think that schools are taking creativity and trying to get rid of it instead of promote it and be forced to be perfect and keep everything perfect instead of guessing and learning but instead being taught to answer correctly every time without feeling embarrassed when getting something wrong. While kids take chances adults go with something that's safe and guaranteed.
I completely agree with this guy. Education has almost deprived our attention of creativity. "Mistakes are the worst thing that you can make" but in terms of creativity it's almost encouraged. Growing up something that I was told was that if you're not failing you not trying. Why are mistakes looked down upon if they're what we learn the most from?
I think classes should be more interactive rather than just listening and taking notes or just sitting and hearing a lecture. There should also be more fun classes that keep us engaged and thinking creatively.
In this video, there are many controversial topics being said. How can children grow out of creativity? In the education field being Wrong or making a mistake is bad. The witch is not entirely true. Adults grow out of creativity. Now in days people and kids are so got up in grades and how they are doing academically in school, not how they need to take care of themselves.
Ashley Seavall
Im not sure if the word ruined is the right word but the education system has defiantly changed the idea of creativity. Abstract ideas are based on creativity and often in School its either right or wrong and you're graded upon that. A lot of people value their grades meaning they lose their creativity. Also by pushing things like learning math and English you work that part of your brain. But you don't work the creative part like dance, or singing, or just the arts in general.
I believe school encourages creativity but also kids limit there creativity because of school. I think this because, school do encourage you to be creative by, creative writing, art, making posters, ect. But also its hard to encourage it because students don't necessarily want to be creative because the teachers are telling them too. I think that students should be able to be creative whenever (within reason).

This talk was about how schools are killing kid's creativity and I agree with him. I think that encouraging kids to be completely perfect will make them worry more about grades and work instead of being creative and having fun. the education system should not only be focused on intelligence and academics but also on creativity and letting loose of the imagination. Because of this when we are younger we are more creative and less stressed, but as we grow up, the pressure on us increases and makes us less creative because we have so many other things to worry about. - Abigail Pfanstiel
I agree with him that school kills creativity since as we go into higher grades we have more stress and work which is taking away our creativity. We are all focused on something other than being ourselves and we lose our creativity.
Schools are killing creativity by making acts that are more logical the most important such as math and reading. Then things that aren't in those categories go down the hierarchy. Also having a long time just sitting just makes you want to leave so you only think about when you leave. When you are focusing on the clock you ant focus on the work and you can't go up the other hierarchy of the different degrees to get a way better job.
I do actually agree with his point of schools killing creativity. It is the idea that the most weighted and or important subjects are math/ language/ ext. An example of this in school is all of the kids just looking forward to lunch, or leaving school, and not their classes.

I think that schools are taking away creativity by adding stress and work to the students the older we get and he get overloaded with work that we dont have time to do the things that we love doing and the it takes away from that part of our life shutting us down and taking away our creativity -Kaden G.
School should be re-thought from the fundamental level. Support for the ones falling behind, not base it on an industrial only world, there should be more chances for all students, etcetera.
Schools value academics more than creativity because they feel the output after focusing on academics rather than creativity is vastly more successful.
Some people would have told "creative kids" to calm down and put them on medication, while others would have put them in a dance class to help bring out their creative side.
Today people are mostly focused on how they appear to others but not how they want to appear.
Kids are losing their creativity because schools feel they are less important.
Why do we mostly have academic classes, but rarely any creative type classes?
People are frightened of making mistakes and being wrong because they don't want to feel judged by other "smarter" and "more creative" students.
-Charlotte Edwards
It is interesting how he said mistakes are the worst thing to make. other people might judge, but some mistakes can help us improve and sometimes what other people say won't affect anyone at all.
Layla Garcia
I like his idea that kids aren’t afraid of being wrong but in our society being wrong is not something you want to be, so as we grow up we try to fit in and therefore it stops us from being creative or different from others. I also thought it was interesting how he brought up why our core classes such as English and math are the main subjects at school. However, I can see why math and English would be our main subjects because we will end up using them most in life.
-Hudson Lunn
I agree with the ted talk. Although I don't thnk school are trying t take away all the creativity from kids lives, i just think it is sometimes a biproduct of what can happen in the education system. Thinking about how he said "mistakes are the worst thing that can happen," like the need to get good grades, without mistakes it is very difficlut to learn, every mistakes just tell you how to do it better the next time by big or little adjustments.
-Caedon Hynum
In the video, Sir Ken Robinson says in school, subjects like math and English are most focused on. Doesn't matter where you go, everywhere on Earth will have the same subjects. Things like art and theater are limited and pushed back. I think his perspective is interesting and school prepares you to do jobs in industries instead of expressing creativity. People these days are more focused on their appearance instead of being themselves and taking risks. He says you're not creative if you're not prepared to be wrong.
Everyone these days is focused on their grades or what people think of them but not focused on being themselves and giving themselves some slack. Everyone is always stressed thinking about stuff they need to do to be better and not thinking about how that day was a good day and how good they did.
I also think in the school systems, we are taught to sit still and look at a screen, doing work and making our hands hurt from writing for most of the day when maybe we should be doing more interactive things for our brain. Like getting up and learning around the building and interacting with our peers in a fun way.
-Bryn Ryan
I completely agree with the point that he was trying to get across, as it demonstrates that not everyone is the same and that's ok. It's always important to consider everyone's needs and their learning habits while treating them the same as everyone else even if they are different.
Logan V.
The biggest point that I took from this talk was that as kids grow older, they become more focused on what people think of them and how good their grades are instead of following their passion and creativity. The typical middle and high school student is more focused on getting good grades and doing rather dumb things to gain attention or popularity. He talks a lot about how students need to focus on their creativity and interactive things rather than their popularity status.
Jon Lambert
I agree with that school teaches you out of creativity.School puts your mind to work wich causes your brain to get boring and loose its creativity.
I completely agree with what the speaker in this video is talking about because I think that the school system is killing students creativity, for the satisfaction of more business made students
-Royce Gomez
A big point i saw from this was how school changes us. It takes away our creativity and focus on their math and science and not ways things that we can express ourselves through. Also there is the pressure to fit in we have now that scares us to be bold and want to learn.
