In the Nextel Video, they satirically recreate Romeo and Juliet by fast forwarding the play and inserting the important parts. They used telephones as communication and all of the events that happened in the video actually happened in the play.

It was a very veery quick version of the book, and they were all using cell phones.

The Nextel romeo and Juliet commercial satirically updates the classic "Romeo And Juliet" by using cell phones which are a big thing today and it shows how cell phones are not always helpful in every situation. And also it is making fun of the way teens talk with text speak and short answers to conversations instead of how Shakespeare really put thought into the dialogues instead of mindless conversation that happens more today than it should

It makes fun of Romeo And Juliet by using phones and trying to be funny.

The Romeo and Juliet Nextel commercial makes fun of Romeo and Juliet in many ways. The commercial was very short and it was making fun of the time span of Romeo and Juliet. The video updates Romeo and Juliet by adding cell phones and having Romeo and Juliet use modern day language. The man at the end also makes fun of how they are "kids", saying that they fall in love fast and hard.

The Nextel commercial brings in the elements of new technology with thee cellphones, and the deaths were so immediate, and this was more comical whereas the actual play was a tragidy. Obviouslly the actual play was hundreds of pages long and this way a mere 30 seconds. The technology was really the only 'update' in this impersination.

This commercial seems to prove that communicating by technology doesn't make a difference in the end, and doesn't prove much. It makes fun of them because thechnology doesn't change the result in the story that Romeo and Juliet die in the end. This represents the story of Romeo and Juliet and satirally makes fun of the story line comically. What makes it funny, is all the sound effects with the intertwninf sound of the walkie talkie.

The Nextel Romeo and Juliet makes me consider that they make fun of Romeo and Juliet. The commercial was short and it added new technology that wasn't in the classic one. There was cell phones and the people were wearing modern day clothing

This Nextel commercial satirically makes fun of the classic Romeo and Juliet. It turns a long play into a thirty second commercial, and adds humor in it because it is actually similar to the real version. It changes the play that is tragic to a comedy by making it seem so stupid. It is funny because it all happens so quick.

This movie makes fun of Romeo and Juliet by emphasizing a very large portion of the book in just thirty seconds. They also added some modern humor, and then some technology to advertise their product.

the nextel commericail mocks the play romeo and Juliet by showing how technology did solve the communication error in the classic story.

The play was fast forwarded and mocked it with the cell phones. It was a very brief version of the play.

It adds a big sense of quick humor to it, making the play happen in all of thirty seconds. although a communication commercial, it really does sum up romeo and juliet in an easier way. It just kind of throws the story at you in all of thirty seconds and you can get the idea. It is a quick commercial full of humor that represents a play back in time. In a way it is generally good advertising and the points are direct because thats exactly what happened throughout the play.

The Nextel Romeo and Juliet commercial satirically updates the "classic" Romeo and Juliet by advertising their new phone, and how fast the communication is. The play is very fast because the communication is fast. This makes me contemplate if this were real what would happen to Romeo and Juliet. Would Romeo know the plan? In the commercial they all talk on the phone and so they are basically in all the scenes at once, instead of having to going to the different locations.

This commercial by Nextel satirically improves Romeo and Juliet by using cell phones to talk to each other. In 30 seconds, the commercial goes through the whole play of Romeo and Juliet. The drama is that even with a phone Romeo and Juliet still die. It also sort of relates to how love can be powerful and drive people to do weird things.

Nextel's Romeo and Juliet uses modern day relationships and how they are seem to be over the the phone and text to add a satirical aspect to the ad. The commercial also scoffs the play and the events that occur within the show for example the balcony scene when Juliet says she loves him and he responds with "ditto".

The updated version of this play has them using phones to communicate. If Romeo and Juliet had a way to like they did in this commercial they probably would've been able to go on and they wouldn't have died. Because the entire reason they die is due to miscommunication. So they would lived if they had modern phones and all that.

In the nextel commercial, they fast forward the play into about 30 seconds. They include all the important events but everybody talks into cell phones.

This Nextel commercial makes me think about how quick the story could be without a lot of details. Also, it points out the faults in the writing and then sort of ridiculous aspects and planning of the story are.Even though Romeo and Juliet is considered to be such a great story and very well written, I still think that there are obvious faults in the planning of the story.

This commercial shows Romeo and Juliets' whole story only it was in fast forward. It mocks the story about how Juliet dies. Romeo and Juliet communicate with cell phones.

In this nextel commercial, they are making fun of the "classic" Romeo and Juliet by showing that they fell in love so fast and they were extremely quick to make decisions.

In the commercial, they use cell phones and make fun of the play because the company using this ad is a communication company. This is funny because in the play there is obviously communication problems. This commercial mocks the play especially when Juliet says I love you and Romeo replies simply with ditto.
