Anthem can relate to this video because they both have something in common. When I think of this I think of that writing is kind of like the candle and that it is limited to some things. Where as electricity and the web aren't limited to as many things and there is a lot more we can do with it.

"Technology And A Primitive Futuristic Society" made me think about how things can be shortened. This reminds me when equality was telling us about he got his name. When he really had a real name but the made it "easier". It is telling us that we have the power to change things and we have the power to do things. We are teaching the machine. We are the teaching of new thing. Even though they are all the same you can change that...make it different. This Quote:“We are one in all and all in one. There are no men but only great WE, One indivisible and forever” (Rand 19). brings me back to this video. We are one...but we can do much greater.

The video makes me think about how advanced the internet actually is. In Anthem candle was their source of light but Equality found electricity and created a light with that so it is like Web 2.0 in the video. They knew they had to change there ways to use it. On the internet people changed how we get information and other things.

This video makes me think about Anthem in a way that the people from before have taught the society that they have to change. In the way we teach a machine by way of error. For whatever happened in the past of Anthem the government decided to change it and transform it. The exact same way we shape technology.

It connects to Anthem from Equality trying to use new technology and it is first starting with us or we but then you turns into you, I, ourselves, also Equality learned that. He learned to talk with we then found the better a new word ego and I.

This video was cool it was very informative and i thought the sound track was cool it makes you think about technology and the power of it and that is what i thought of this video.

It makes me think about how much the internet has changed. It taught me how it has changed and how much it depends on us. It said many times that the machine is us. And now I understand. We have made "the machine" do all what it of what it does. It makes everything shorter to do. It reminds me of when equality got his name. Everything was shortened and therefore easier. It was also different for everyone. It also makes me think of that we can do much more than I. I is weak compared to we.

It relates to the book Anthem by Ayn Rand because it shows so much creativity and intelligence. Everything you can do on the internet is different and unique. Everything is getting so advanced and mind boggling. In the book Anthem when Equality was creating the light bulb he was challenged with people wanting to be the same and bland but he was not going to let anyone get in his way. In our society we have very Conservative people and even religions who want everything to stay the way it was and not to make advancements that can separate us from one another. In the book Anthem there is a quote that is their motto that state "We are one in all and all in one, there are no men but only the great WE, One invisible and forever." This shows that they want everyone to have equal rights and be invisible. In our society the technology has made it so people are not invisible. I think this is the kind of world Equality would have wanted.

I feel like the city around equality was teaching him something. It was teaching him something else better was out there. And in the video it stated how every day we teach the machine something new. Equality eventually found that place. That's the connection I made from the video to Anthem.

It is funny all of the things we can do on the internet. Everything that we do is unique. We can google the answer to a homework question or watch a youtube video to learn how to do something new. This relates to anthem because equality's discovery about electricity. There are endless possibilities that you can do with electricity. Just like the internet.

The video makes me think about how much Humans are becoming more dependent on "The Machine". I think that "The Machine" in Anthem is the community. “We are one in all and all in one. There are no men but only great WE, One indivisible and forever.” WE is the community of men working only for the betterment of there brothers. With all of our social media involvement today, are we becoming a society of WE? I think that it won't go that far, but some days I am not sure.

They say that technology is us and that we teach it. So in the future where are we going, one day will we be lead by computer's. And where else will computers take us to better future's or worse.

When I watched this video The first thing I thought was its crazy how you can change almost anything. This connects to Anthem because we have the power to change things with the click of a button but the people in Anthem can't even change their own minds. Thee connect because they are so different. The internet gives us the power to change and create things and share them with the entire world. “IT IS A SIN TO WRITE THIS. It is a sin to think words no others think and put them down upon paper no others are to see” (Rand 17) This quote is the first line of the book. Immediately we, as the reader, learn that these people can't even think what they want to think. The council has taken away their ability to change anything, even the simplest things.

This really brought to light how digital text has linked people in ways never thought possible We are coming closer and closer to not haveing to interact personally, this can be good and bad. Kind of like in "Anthem" on page 19 "We are one in all and all in one. There are no men but only the great WE, One, indivisible and forever." This is what we are coming closer to on a digital level. AND THIS IS BAD, no one who has read or ever will read this book will think that what society is like in the book is something to accomplish. Yet we as a race are becoming more and more like a collective person on the internet. I'm not saying that the internet is bad, but we are becoming to attached to communicatiing on the internet, becoming more of a hive mind. We need to rethink our involvement with the internet.

Wesch’s short video about “us in the machine” is a scary yet extremely true topic. Humans don’t realize how we take part in the internet and the technologies. This video might connect with Anthem by expressing what humans are capable of creating and what society has become and where it is heading with the skills we have taught the technologies; what we have allowed advancements to become. “It was when I read the first of the books I found in my house that I saw the word “I”. And when I understood this word, the book fell from my hands, and I wept, I who had never known tears” Sometimes people might not understand their influence and capability, therefore it is often forgotten that we, as a society, are the society and we are the system. We the machine.

Anthem and the Video are very similar in the fact that Anthem has a Council that was using everyone in the city to create a "perfect society" in their eyes. And the internet is using us to learn what we like and what is searched about more.

Wesch's short video about "us in the machine" makes us think about how extreme and advanced technology is. In the novel Anthem technology was very absent. I connect this book to Anthem in the way that technology has gone to the extreme and gaining smartness from the people that use it. When I see that I think of the short video when they say that "technology is us" which means we are teaching and it is learning about what we think about. Going back to my connection which is text to world because I am connecting the older times in history to Anthem because there is little to no technology in Anthem unlike in the video.

The short video about "us in the machine" makes me think of how old this video must be due to the technology, and how much computers are a big part in a person's life; how effective they can be. Equality would most likely be very proud in how much power one person could use and effect the internet, whereas Anthem's society would be completely against it due to how much individualism and creativeness the internet can be used for. "It is a sin to think words no others think and then put them down upon a paper no others are to see." That quote shows why Anthem would be completely against computers and the internet because of all the freedom.

Technology makes things so much simpler and easier for most everything. It used to not be used that much but now it is in everyones lives everyday. I think can relate to Anthem because in Anthem the person is told that he can only do certain things (Life without technology) but he then begins to question that and started to decide things on his own. He then explores places that people have never gone to before and I think that is kinda like the internet because on the internet you can find almost anything that you want by a simple search and browse.

This video relates to Anthem because they both contain the topic of increasing the ease of life. Web 2.0 is like the light bulb Equality creates because both inventions aim to ease the toil of men, although they may have been received by society differently. It makes me think about how advanced society and how the ease of life has improved drastically even just in the past century. It also makes me contemplate what Similarity 5-0306 said, that "men have no cause to exist save in toiling for other me,".

Wesch's short video made me think that it's similar to Anthem because it has many different ideas and it has different opinions. The short video changes so many times and it's like Anthem because Anthem has different moods during the story. This video connects to Anthem because it has different motions and different positions.

The video made me think about how we can’t trust the internet, but yet we do with our life. Everyone should know that not everything you read on the internet true, but also not everything we read in a book is true either. The book is the writer’s take on what happened, and that could be false, but online we see it a lot more. On wikipedia you are aloud to edit it, just like how they showed us on the video, also people might make fake websites or fake profile. This video connects to anthem by showing us how everyone is one and everything is everything. “We are one in all and all in one. There are no men but only great WE, One indivisible and forever” Rand prove my point that everyone is we on page 19. We can also be our self, as Rand showed us on page 97 “I am. I think. I will.”

The short video made by Wesch makes you realize that the internet in itself is a community where people can come together and share with each other. I thin that the society in the internet is collectivist because everyone is equal. The anonymity that the internet provides the people with equality among everybody else in the internet because it doesn't matter if you are young or black or tall or intelligent, the same amount of information and freedom is accessible to everybody. Things such as privacy, family, or love can be lost in the internet because people also lose their identity, and without your identity, you don't have anything, you're just another user in the hug and intimidating internet.

After watching this is made me think back to the time where we didn't have all tis technology like phone, computers , ect. but look where we are now! The same in anthem Equality went from candles to electricity. The same thing with our langue we use to have simple langue but now we have one of the hardest languages to learn. you also see this in anthem. he goes from we to i
