While watching clips of the movie based of of "Martian Chronicles", I found many similarities and differences between the book and movie. Like the book, the movie does a good job explaining the humans scace center and why/how they sent people to Mars. In the movie, the first spaceship was not manned and just sent as a test. This is different than the book because in the first expedition, there were indeed humans in the spacecraft. The book has less background information on the characters like Spender as the movie has more information on the characters in the space room.
APert from the acting the Film and the book were pretty similar. It follows the same story basically. Apart from a few minor changes. also I like that it has Rock Hudson in it.
It is different because because in the movie is started with a question but in the book, it started off with the story. In the movie, it missed the whole town of the Martians. Also, in the movie there is communication and in the book, we never experienced that. In the movie the first missions are un-manned but in the book they have people. In the book there was never a press conference but in the movie there is.
there are a few things wrong like the start of movie does not match with the book. the first mission was manned not unmanned. there was not a meeting at the beginning of the book. Spinner is portrayed differently in the book. the movie is really different than in the book.
There were more unmanned missions in the video than there were in the book. There is talk between Spender and cptn.Wilder before even landing on Mars. Cptn.Wilder is the colonel and not the captain in the movie. There is a mission control in the movie and in the book. Rocket is not a rocket, but instead looks like the eagle. Music matches book. Same names.
The movie started out with a prob going out into space which was different from the book because the book started out with a rocket taking off. The rocket took off in a fiery explosion which is how the book described the rocket taking off. The movie tells a story of the people back on earth. Politics and future captains waiting to get on rocket and to mars. It starts off in the same year as the book does. A whole new vehicle is shown taken off. Something that doesn't look anything like a rocket. shows the story of the martian and how she has that dream of york. The shots ring off the gun just like the book.
I noticed a few differences in the book from the movie. One including, that I noticed that the book the story starts in 1999 and the film starts in around 1976. This is a big difference because it then sets the stage for how long it takes for the first expedition to actually get to Mars. The video looks very like Mars is just part of a desert on Earth, it doesn't seem very realistic. A similarity between the two is that they use the same names, like York and Spender. Another similarity of the movie to the book is that they both start with the rocket taking off. Another similarity of the film to the movie is that the Earthmen were honored when they were on Earth but looked down upon by the Martians when they got to Mars.
When comparing the "Martian Chronicles" film to the book the first thing i noticed was that while the book jumps straight into the story line the movie gives a little background information. In the movie it also mentions how the first spaceship missed it's ideal landing point. Later it says the first rocket was unmanned when the book claims it was. It seems there is much calmer conversations in the movie whereas in the book it isn't.
Ignoring the fact that the movie sucked, it made a few changes to the original story. The beginning of the book focuses on martians, rather than humans. I theorize that the intent of this was to humanize the martians and treat humans as aliens. This makes a departure from typical statement about xenophobia, which typically humanizes one race, and then has them face oppression. In this book, it leads us to question the martian's actions. The movie drops the ball on this by focusing on humans more than martians.
in 1976 bThe first unmanned drone was launched and couldn't see past the horizon and in 1999 launched a manned rocket to mars they have been working on this project for 10 years they have had 24 liftoffs in total, The Martians have dreams have people of earth coming to mars.
I noticed that the text was similar to the movie because the names are mostly the same. The scene with the martians Yll and Ylla is about the same as the text. But, the text was very different from the movie. In the movie they launched a bunch of rockets at once but in the book they only launched one rocket for the first mission. Also, in the movie people interview the astronauts which they don't do in the book.
In the Martian Chronicles film except I didn't notice much of text alignment and there were numerous differences. The way the Martians looked and acted. The humans act differently in the way they arrive and act on mars. In conclusion, there are more differences than similarities.
They started with people landing. Wasn’t a rocket. In the book in never stated that they landing a little non - human - spacecraft. They showed some scenes from Earth about launching the rocket when the book the rocket just lifted off. I notice in the movie how the Astronauts are being questions and pictured and being so uplifted by the people but when they get to Mars in the book It shows how they get no praise. Just how it’s shown the book humans need something to praise them. Also only two guys go to Mars. The Martian looks like a human. I imagined them to be very different. I also know the movie is limited and can’t just create a new race back then but I just imagined way different.
There's a lot of things that match and don't, the first thing I notice is the meeting at the beginning and it mentions Spender, who we have no idea about until the fourth expedition in the book. Also the assistant Bert was not mentioned. Of course there are some differences in the time and the flow of the movie compared to the book because if you were to say each line for line and scene for scene then it would have a lot of cuts and wouldn't move smoothly. The big thing is that they can't depict the telekinesis very well being in a movie and that is a big tool for the Martians in communicating and taking down the less superior minds of the humans.
I think that there are most things the same but I noticed a lot of things that are different. Including that the way the Martians are described is different. Also, most of the beginning of the book is much different from the movie. There was not meeting at the beginning of the book. But the main parts are all generally the same including names and people.
I did notice text alignment but I also noticed a few changes to the story. In the beginning of the story it talks more about the Martians then the humans. The movie also gives some background information before jumping right into the story.
The Martian Chronicles movie was similar, but there were different things. Spender in the movie is introduced at the very beginning, but in the book it's later in. Another thing, in the movie Ylla doesn't talk, she speaks through her thoughts. Another thing that was different was that only two men went to Mars, but in the book more people went. There were a lot of differences.
While watching the movie based on the book "The Martian Chronicles" by Bradbury, I noticed some differences between the book and the movie. Unlike the book which did not go into detail with the first expedition, the movie gives more insight into the process that made the expedition possible and the astronauts on it. The movie and the book both have the same plot with Ylla and her husband in the beginning. The movie accurately shows the book's detail on how the martians use telepathy to communicate and Ylla's dreams about York coming to Mars. The book gives more detail to the the plot of the story and character development, whereas the movie emphasizes the character's appearance and the setting. Although the book and the movie have many similarities, they have many differences as to how they describe the story too.
When I first watched the movie "The Martian Chronicles, I noticed some differences and similarities. At the start of the movie, the first expedition to mars was unmanned non like the book where the first expedition had humans on it. The martians are also portrayed differently in the movie than the book.
I think that a lot of things are the same. They had a similar storyline as in the book and it was almost exactly how I had pictured it except maybe the bad acting and filming.
